This is being heralded as the biggest game in the last 20 years of Aggie basketball (that is not saying much). Reed Arena is going to be nuts. It should be a close game, but I don't think we match up well at all with texas. Their Frontcourt should dominate. Joseph jones will need to come up huge again and a;lso stay out of foul trouble. Acie Law will need to be big and the rest of the supporting cast needs to hit their shots. Texas is a much better team (talent wise), but they struggle on the road and the crowd could really help the players. I predict a close game throughout with Texas winning by 7-10 in the end.
I've got a bad feeling about this game as a Longhorn fan. The Aggies are playing for their postseason lives (NCAA at least) and a win over a top 10 team would be huge for them. I would predict a close loss for the Horns, but they just don't do it that way. Either a close UT win or A&M blowout.
Definitely a huge game for the Ags. I really hope we can pull it out, but I don't like our chances. In almost every game this year we've gone into 5+ minute stretches where we just don't score, and that is not going to work against Texas. The other thing is that A&M plays tough defense, and against a highly ranked opponent like Texas that is going to equal fouls since we will not get, nor deserve, the benefit of the doubt on the calls. We are going to have to earn that respect over time. A&M can win, but they are going to have to play the game of the year I think. I think we are going to be tough next year though when we finally get some badly needed frontcourt help.
This is a huge game for TAMU. If they can pull it out, it would be awesome. It's going to be a packed house.
Couldn't agree more we (A&M) have to have acie and JJ score at least 20 I think. The Longhorns just have so much talent that it will be tough to get a victory, but a&m is playing for an NCAA bid. I just hope its a good close game. I know I'll be there yelling as loud as possible.
I'm watching- not a pretty start for Texas, unfortunately. Aggies brought the intensity, as expected.
Well A&M has already survived one 5 min stretch with no FG so that is encouraging. They usually do that once or twice a game. JJ needs to step it up if we are going to win ... I like the way its going so far though
people getting engaged at a aggie basketball game. then yelling about beat tu in the mic... nice romantic moment
AGGIES WIN!!! AGGIES WIN!!! AGGIES WIN!!! AGGIES WIN!!! AGGIES WIN!!! AGGIES WIN!!! AGGIES WIN!!! AGGIES WIN!!! AGGIES WIN!!! AGGIES WIN!!!
tamu is gurranteed the 4th spot!!! WHOOOHOOOOOO! What a day. Duke loses, USA soccer team wins, TAMU wins. NOw Rockets need to win. AND TCU to WIN!!!! BOOOYA b****ES!!! HOW DO YOU LIKE US NOW?!!!
Wow!! I guess saying the 2nd half would be exciting was an understatement. Great shot by Law, unbelievable TO by Tucker. Congrats on a good game.
You know, I am proud of the state of Texas. I live in NC now but to see how UT has dominated college sports (football, baseball, basketball), to see the Astros get to the World Series, and now to see an underdog Texas A&M basketball team on the verge of making the NCAA tournament is just awesome! Now we need the Rockets to get a fire and start playing with some passion. Then we need to see the Texans get Vince Young and bring it on. Gig Em Aggies, Go Rockets!
Great game by the Aggies. You guys worked the Horns for the full 40 minutes. Clearly the physical style of play got into our guys' heads. Great strategy by Gillespie to slow the game down and give it to Acie Law for the final shot. I think A&M will be a 8-10 seed in the NCAA tourney. Congrats Ags!
