alright guys, so Isiah's a lousy GM. but come on, let's give him a break. as i recall, the last GM was horrific AND is somewhat responsible for the collapse of the Knicks... what was his name? was he as bad as Isiah?

time to put the blame on other people as well, such as the owner and the previous gm.

But still after what 3-4yrs and the highest payroll and you have probably the worst team in the NBA?

Arn't most of the current players on the team from Isiah?

Scott Layden was the previous GM, IIRC...and, no, I think Isaiah has been much worse.

I have to admit that Isiah Thomas has done a fabulous job in the NBA Draft.

He drafted Damon Stoudamire (rookie of the year)

    Drafted Tracy McGrady (seventh spot)

    Channing Frye (NYK)

Not bad choices. I just think that he's pushed with making a quick turnaround rather than taking the time to create a winner.

Then again his trades are horrible.

I think they'll settle the sexual harassment suit before they'll let go of Isiah.

Scott Layden gave out horrible contracts to Houston and Sprewell. Those were bad moves, but I can understand why. After all, those guys took the Knicks to the Finals. You want to promote franchise stability, and you keep the core guys there long term. However, the problem was that Sprewell and Houston play the same position and they were not Stock and Malone (Layden was the Utah GM before he went to NY). He bet on the wrong horses.

Isaiah, on the other hand... I have no idea of what he wants to do other than willingly destroy the Knicks.

    I agree...

...but most teams don't hire scouts for the General Manager position.

The Knicks have $60 million in expiring contracts next year! Imagine the damage Isiah can do if he trades all of them for players with bad long term contracts.

Sorry for the misinformation guys, I thought it was legit. It would have been strange though if they fired him after the Francis trade.

The problem is when Isiah is fired, LB becomes the de facto GM no matter who they bring in and give the title to. LB is NOT a good GM. If LB doesn't run the entire show after Isiah is gone, he will force the Knicks to let him walk or fire him just like he did the Pistons.
