Being that I don't get to watch all the games anymore and catch the recaps due to work I am wondering if our outside shooting improved? If it has, why? Is it a new game plan? Is it the outside shooters that just have their stroke again or have our post players in Yao and Swift improved allowing our outside shooters more open shots? Can someone fill me in?
Shot selection is getting better because we're running the plays better. The better shooting is a result of that space created during plays and it seems that no one is hesitating anymore. It is more of a catch and shoot-while-you're-open team than before. Basically, the practice is finally paying off with a healthy team on the floor.
Wesley's resurgence is a big part of it. He's been red hot lately, ever since he was releved of primary PG duties, which totally understandably seemed to wear him out. Maybe a combination of that + reworking his surgically repaired knee back into shape = en fuego from the perimeter lately (no jinxing!) Also, like you said he doesn't have to hopelessly try to create his own shot as much, now that he has t-mac and yao back in the lineup to draw the d.
Wes is pretty much the entire reason for improved outside shooting. Rafer is inconsistent, Bogans is inconsistent, and Head has been downright bad. Props to Wesley for getting his shot back.
