Seriously though. What the heck did happen to Rafer. It looked like he got benched. Even if the question is a bit vague and would be better served in the Game thread, it's still a valid question.
he wasnt really making a difference at the end, we needed defense, something which hes not really good at i liked the call jvg made to take him out in the final minutes
4-14 shooting 6 assists 4 turnovers I like the way Alston's been playing, but he made some pretty bonehead plays this game. I think JVG benched him after he ignored Yao and drove in for a wild layup attempt that missed badly. I'll give Rafer props, though...he didn't pout and was up and cheering for the team at the end.
He had a few turnovers in a row and couldn't get the offense going so Gundy benched him. Bill made a comment about it during the game.
Okay, thanks. I watched it on pplive and couldn't get any commentary on what was going on. It didn't seem like Rafer was that much worse than anyone else, EVERYBODY was sucking it up during the Warrior's run, especially Wes and Bogans who both threw horribly lazy passes.
He had a bad second half. I have noticed that when he makes a mistake or two it seems to snowball on him. It is like he can't focus. He is what he is, I guess we take the good with the bad. Boy, Bogans may turn out to be more than a minor addition. He has some ruggedness about him; I like what I see.
Solid: "Bogans may turn out to be more than a minor addition. He has some ruggedness about him; I like what I see." I agree- Bogans did not fear Jason Richardson at all. No fear!
The Bogans trade is great considering we got a rotation player for a guy that played 20-30 minutes the entire season. What's not to love about that deal?
Hey, I like Bogans as much as the next guy. But come on now. JRich lit us up and almost single handedly won the game for them. Bogans reminded me of Dwesley out there. Hustling his hind end off, and tough as nails, but in the end, he just couldn't physically matchup with Jason. We had to put 90 inches on Jason to choke off the game winner.
JRich is the kind of player who is unstoppable when he decides to bring his "A" game. Problem is, he doesn't bring his "A" game often enough which is why he isn't a superstar. The last two times I've seen him play a full game he's scored 44 & 39 points. What a talent! But he doesn't have the mentality to will his team to victory game in, game out. The only thing stopping him from being very close to Kobe/Tracy/Wade status is his effort and mentality. He reminds me of Vince Carter in a way. If he had someone like a Jason Kidd to light a fire under him every game JRich would not only be an All-Star, he would probably crack the 2nd Team All-NBA.
