Probably has a little to do with it, but there's plenty of lilly-white college communities that support hoops with a passion. Most likely it's just a byproduct of Austin having many other social diversions. I was at the Villanova game and the Erwin Center was packed & loud as hell, only game I've been to in the last couple of years though. It would be interesting to compare UT's bball attendance figures with those of other schools
