I don't see a big difference because Isabel apparently didn't see one. Isabel said most men don't get down to that level of detail but that's basically what most men want. It's not the first time she's made that sort of suggestion. I chalk it up to all the time she spent in a situation that apparently did have similarities to this one -- where the husband forced sex as a wifely duty prescribed by, of all things, God. So I don't blame her for having a bad taste in her mouth about men, but I really do wish she wouldn't paint the whole gender as having anything meaningful in common with the guy in the contract or with her perhaps similarly twisted ex. I wouldn't want to be in a sexless marriage, but I'd prefer that to one where the wife is regularly raped.
I don't have any problem with the guy writing up the contract. But I don't have any idea why any woman in her right mind would sign it. You don't get nothing in this world if you don't ask. There has to be a starting point for every negotiation so you might as well write up the inital offer in your favor. Here ya go b****, sign this contract and we'll get hitched. Let's see...hmmm....hmmm...hmmm...ah, no. I have a counter offer for you though: 1. You will work every damn day till and including the day you die and bring me home your paycheck 2. Every damn day you will bend over and squeal like pig while I corn hole you with big blackie 3.......
That contract probably should have been a pretty good sign that the marriage wasn't going to work out too well.
I wasn't physically forced to do anything, but he did expect certain "marital rights" and say that I could also ask them of him. The guy in the contract is obviously deranged, but I could see parallels between him and my ex, just in the general attitude that is shown toward women. It's something you just sense. And I'm kind of cynical these days. I'm afraid that everyone is just a player or wants a sexual conquest, no matter how drawn-out and complex the game might be before he gets there. As for wanting women not to be pushovers: here's a thought. Some women are like that because they're shy or are just trying to be good and self-sacrificing people. What they would really like is for some guy to show that caring back instead of just taking advantage of the situation. To draw her out of her shell and make her feel safe and comforted. If you can manage this, y'all will score major points... you know, that are probably good for getting whatever it is you really want. [the cynicism returns]
I give up on you, girlie. I've been called a LOT of bad things in my life. VERY arrogant things. But sex was never an issue. Apparently, y'all just weren't a match. Maybe it is him... Maybe it is you. But treating a woman like crap, and good sex are not mutually exclusive.
OK, come on, guys, the proper response is that you're supposed to want to go out there and prove to the cynical girl that men aren't all bad. It's only supposed to make you want to prove her wrong... right? (tongue in cheek... see, I can laugh with or at myself...) Not saying sex is bad, or that being with men isn't desirable. It's exactly because we want those things to work out so much that we feel, ummm, bitter when they don't. Bad experiences can always leave you questioning everybody's motives. We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread. (seriously, I hope you guys wouldn't want a contract like that... there's a difference between a wife and a sex slave... right? honestly, it's demeaning and inhuman)
I can't believe that nobody has commented on the true shocker here...that she didn't run screaming at the first sight of said contract~! No, she decided she couldn't sign the contract but went ahead and married the deranged control freak anyway? WTH woman! That document was clearly the product of a mind that derived all pleasure from the controlling aspect. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't even get interested unless the woman (in my case, my wife) is interested.
Well, if page 4 of the contract is to be believed, there is most likely MANY photos of this girl floating around out there. But honestly, odds are you really don't want to see them.
