I'll be in Roanoke very soon. Anything to do there or around there. I looked around some sites. Doesn't even seem they have a movie theatre there.

Lol. They have several movie theaters. It's about the size of Pasadena,TX.

My gf lives in VA and we spent some time in Roanoke while checking out the Blue Ridge Mountains (beautiful by the way, sightseeing in the mountains is the best thing to do there). I can't remember the name of it but there's a nice restaraunt/movie theater where you sit down and eat while watching the movie.

The Virginia Beach Aquarium and Marine Science Center is pretty neat if you're into that kind of thing - it looks like it's updated since the last time I was there. Might be worth the drive - I would go to their website and make your own opinion - http://www.vmsm.com/index.shtml

For the first six years of my life, Roanoke was "the big city". (I was out in Blacksburg.) I would think they would at least have movie theaters. Since I haven't been there as an adult, I don't know what the entertainment is, but the area in the mountains is beautiful and worth driving through.

I had a good friend from Roanoke in college.

    Unfortunately you're right, it sucks.

Roanoke is in between nowhere and nothingsville.

I could give you some great things to do....if you were going to Hampton or Norfolk.

I live about 2 1/2 hours south of Roanoke. Maybe Wake Forest will have a home game when you are here. Tickets are easy to come by this season.
