Actually, seems like everyone enjoys mar1juana these days, and I don't just mean well-known athletes. What's up with that? OK, I get it, because it's enjoyable... but seems like there would be at least a few people out there who wanted to maintain a drug-free lifestyle. On the other hand, everyone is giving Ricky a hard time. I assume those of you who do are not engaging in this type of activity yourselves or anything...
It has nothing to do with condemning him for what he is doing because its unethical or morally wrong but more a as a matter of responsibility. I enjoy smoking weed but every once in a while. Once, maybe twice a year. And thats a maybe. I also am aware of where I am with my job situation. If I'm in between contracts and know that I could interview or get tested at anytime then I'm not doing it. Period. On the other hand, if I am working consistantly and I know that the likelihood of a drug test is very slim, then I may do it. This dude knows he has been caught THREE time before. He knows that he is going to be tested all the time. He knows that lighting up is going to jeopardize his career. That is what makes him a dumbass and that is why everyone calls him out on it.
Yes, that problem is limited to UT Also, just for informational purposes not really something I need to know, but how much can you have without it being a felony
I just had a thought. He came back because they wanted the signing bonus back from him for quiting. Now he is suspended for a year. He can go back to smoking every day and keep his bonus. Can the Dolphins take his signing bonus now? If not, this might have been what he wanted.
I thought the same thing, right now he has a year vacation coming up and all he had to do was get high to get it. Not a bad plan at all.
Steroids would have been a lot better. At least if that were the case he'd be trying to help his team. With weed, the fool just wanted to get high. Ricky Williams is a loser.
I think his statement pretty much applies to every college.. from UT.. to Chico State.. to Western Michigan.. etc
Faced with the loss of the millionare's lifestyle Ricky agreed to give up chemcal nirvana and anonymity to play a violent sport. Faced with the loss of privacy and the thought of having to play a violent sport Ricky sought the solace of chemical nirvana. Don' criticize it. oooo oop
Well, at least we don't rape sheep. Ricky's weed problem has nothing to do with UT and everything to do with the fact that the man is fragile and mentally ill. How Mack Brown kept him from cracking while he was at the University, I will never know.
But if he doesn't truly care about his career, then what is it? I think he is doing it all for the money. It's the probably only thing he knows how to do well even though he doesn't enjoy doing it. I have had jobs where smoking a j seems a lot more enjoyable than the job I hate, and deep down I didn't care if it jeopardised it. Teams will continue to sign him because of his talent even though they know his heart isn't there. He will continue take advantage of unless he walks away again.
If smoking weed is the worst thing that Ricky Williams does then I really don't see how we can berate him for his actions. Sure he's an idiot for basically throwing away millions of dollars, but there's really nothing wrong with getting high. At least he didn't murder someone (O.J.) or shoot someone in the face (V.P.)
meh, much ado about nothing. After the retirement and subsequent un-retirement over money, did anyone seriously NOT see this coming?
