Jr. wasn't getting any help all day. Seemed everytime he got up to the front (and led) he eventually would fall back. Didn't have any teamates to work with either. But man, he was winning the battle on pit road throughout the whole race. Nice to see all the lead changes and drama throughout as well as the avoidance of a "big one." Would have wished the raced finished completely on green though, instead of the field being frozen after the caution.
Ok, I don't watch NASCAR, but how was the team who had a blatantly illegal part earlier not suspended and then allowed to win? Also why was the crew chief just sent home for the weekend? He should be fired and Johnson should have not been allowed to race. Are people pissed about this and do they think he has cheated when he has won before?
From what I have heard Knaus is going to get an additional 3-5 race suspension and the team will also be docked driver points, so even though they won they will not be the leader for the cup chase. Johnson's crew has been caught before and Knaus was suspended previously. Through mediation got the suspension turned into probation. I think that most of the drivers are non chalant about it because most of their crews do it to some degree. It is almost expected. You just try not to get caught. That is probably why the rules are so lax. If they expelled everyone that cheated then they'd have no drivers and teams to race.
Kind of like steroids in baseball? Everyone knows it is happening but no one cares because it is good for the sport.
