Ditto, the houston chronicle article by feigen today about francis indicates the opposite, that everyone from owner to coach likes alston.

I cant wait to see what happens this trade deadline. Here's to hoping we somehow trade expiring contracts for high draft picks, athletic young players and proven veterans.

I don't think Aldridge knows what he's talking about. It sounds like he's just making it up based on what he thinks Van Gundy would want. Truth is, Van Gundy has had nothing but praise for Alston the last month or so. He loves how he runs the team without turning the ball over too much.

You know what is really scary
It could be that RAFER is undermining JVG. . and that is EXACTLY why he looking so good!!

If the GOOD Rafer is not a JVG OBEDIANT Rafer
what does that mean? What would JVG *rather* Rafer be doing?

DA is smoking crack. did any of y'all go thru all of the clips on NBA.com's TNT Broadband? i saw a clip of DA & VY interviewing Zo at Jillian's, and DA is trying too damn hard to be thug. he's like 40+. he needs to act his age. he must've been drunk or something, b/c he ain't that thug, and yet he kept trying.

this story has to be wack. i think DA just lost some of his dap.

Exactly. Why is everyone around here going insane?

We traded away the only backup PG we had on the roster last week. Now we need someone else to play behind Rafer, since it doesn't appear that Sura will be back soon.

if not for a backup PG then it must be someone in Bibby's caliber that make sense for the Rox to trade Rafer at this point.

I think it's just that Aldridge seemed insistent on this point, with specific information. If anyone knows what his email is at TNT, maybe we can follow up with him (he did say he had talked to people "in the know.")

The only reason I would go for Phil is that he would FORCE the triangle down the throats of both T-mac, Yao and other players. The triangle eliminates the need for a superior PG. This would make the ROX concentrate on getting a strong PF as their first priority.

I havent gone any furher in this thread....but I was just editing that segment and re-listened to what DA said...here is the full quote.

Ernie: Are you hearing anything David?
David Alrdridge: Well, You know...with Houston they're tryin to get a point guard..you know..uh...that's surprising cause I think Luther Head is pretty good, but they think they need a point guard.

it is pretty obvious that he is referring to the backup point since he didnt mention Rafer but he did mention Luther by name....who is theoretically our backup point.

enough with the conspiracy theories...we all know we need a good backup until Luther proves he can do the job.
