I just had surgery yesterday, so I get to watch this kind of shows while skipping work. Guess what, our boy Yao was on. I couldn't recap the whole thing, but here are some:

    1. On this disappointing season, Yao said JVG always calls this team "a bus with two drivers", and he blamed himself for not playing well when Tmac got hurt. But he said he's learned from that experience and will do better next time.

    2. On being a vocal leader, Yao said the language is his biggest barrier in being very vocal here. He was more vocal when played in China, simply because he was more comfortable speaking Chinese. He made a little joke about JVG getting on him for not remembering opponents' names.

    3. On being the most votes getting player in this year's allstar games ahead of Kobe, Shaq, Tmac and so on. Yao said the allstar game is never about who's the best player. There are many options on who the best player is, but he's never one of them. There is alot of pressure of being the #1 vote getting, and he's try his best to prove he's worthy.

    4. On his jersey being outsold by Tmac and Iverson this year, Yao said everyone in China already had his jersey, so there is no point to keep buying.

Cool, sound like a light and warm interview. Yao has the gift to always relax everyone.

Cold Pizza might have provided better anaestesia than your anaesthesiologist.

I don't really like the "a bus with two drivers" metaphor. Because that means at any moment only one can drive. Wouldn't be great if both lift off at the same time, like inside-out instead of inside-or-outside?

Yao talked about JVG giving him a hard time for not knowing the names of his opponents. Yao said he knew they player's moves, their tendencies, and style of play, but couldn't remember all the names. He told coach that they all looked the same, and all his teammates just look at him and go, 'whaaaaat?' Yao learned that saying stuff like that is a no no. Hilarious stuff.

That was funny ---then he laughed and said "Ooops, I will NEVER do that again!"

its human nature to be racist. Imagine if you were a neantherdal from Europe meeting your brother from Africa for the first time.

Ming is someone I could be friends with, he is very witty, very likeable. I have been on his case as a basketball player the last two years, but, as a person, I have always liked his public persona. It is so exciting to see him play so well recently, he is much more confident and aggressive. This is not a good sign for competing teams. If Ming continues to assert himself, the Rocket's future will be bright. As bright as he is.
