Olympics: What events should be added? Subtracted?

Any team that does not have ONE GUY or ONE GAL doing something at one time without help from "teammates" should be thrown out. For example, soccer, baseball, basketball, etc., should be out.

Archery, skating, individual stuff, now that's cool to see... one person making it for the nation... awesome...

Golf needs to be included in the Summer Olympics.

 

baseball is too AMERICAN to be in olympics in my opinion. not as AMERICAN as FOOTBALL, but still very AMERICAN. but i guess if you say that, basketball is AMERICAN also.. since USA is ALWAYS the favorite to win both of those sports..

 

I don't know about what sports should or shouldn't be in the games. But one thing I do know is that the Olympics should go back to having totally amateur athletes.

I hate pros being in the Olympics no matter what the sport is.

Well, all of Latin American and Japan would argue that baseball is purely American.

Also, Men didn't even win gold in basketball in the last olympics, as Europe puts good teams on the court now.

That being said, I think baseball (and softball) are already out, and I wouldn't worry too much if basketball was gone too.

 

Baseball is already out - but for whatever it's worth - the US didn't even qualify for it in the last Olympics. The argument against baseball was that the top pros wouldn't play in it like they do in basketball or hockey. (which is bullsh-t - the top pros don't play in soccer either but it's an olympic sport)

Softball is out because the US was the only nation that played it and the only nation that's any good at it - they crushed every team they played. It was less a competition than a free gold medal for the US team

The only thing that I think needs to be changed is they need to have each Olympics every 1-2 years not every 4..

 

Maybe combine dodgeball with skijumping?

well by definition baseball IS purely American. but as you can see in the MLB latin america and japan have very good players.
and yes US didnt win basketball last olympics. but you know they will this time, and many olympics down the road. its an EASY medal for the US straight up. almost guaranteed. if baseball and basketball are olympic sports. maybe cricket and rugby should be as well. even though i hate those sports. only to be fair. who knows, they may already be olympic sports, too lazy to double check.

i would like to see riding bikes off cliffs in the summer olympics. i guess it would be based on judges scores, most creative way to break an arm, leg, hip, etc.

i would like to see ice fishing in the winter olympics. nothing better than guys freezing their asses off, while downing a case beer, waiting for a couple of hours to catch a fish.

just some ideas....
