I just saw on Real GM that the T-Woofs are looking to move Jaric for some size: http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/39074/20060210/wolves_trying_to_get_bigger_offering_jaric/ Would they give us Jaric and their 1st rounder for Swift? I'd want the pick thrown-in because, though they have similar salaries, Jaric's deal is a few years longer. Anyway, I think Jaric would be a nice fit here - he can backup at PG, SG, and SF, then become the starting SG next year when Wesley is gone. Plus, between our pick and the Wolves' pick, we can find a good PF in the draft to replace Swift.
Like I said, we'd be taking on a longer contract. That's worth at least a 2nd rounder, but it never hurts to ask for a 1st. Otherwise, it'd be an even swap - two guys signed in the offseason who just haven't fit in with their new teams.
Not a total tard, no. But other than drafting Kevin Garnett, what has he done? Signed Sprewell? KandiMan? Traded for Mark Blount? Let Flip Saunders walk? The only thing that keeps the Wolves from being perennial losers is KG.
Can we sort out what to do with our dozen or so guards first before we acquire another one? We don't need another average or subpar starter.
Also Darius Miles is available according to ESPN Insider. I want to say he is hurt, but maybe not. I know his contract is huge, but geez that guy is pretty damn good. Wonder what it would take to get him?
Woof, talk about fool's gold! That guy's jump shot looks like Ryan Bowen's. He can put up 20 and 10 on a bad team just by getting a lot of touches, but he wouldn't add anything to our offense. I'd rather have Bowen for a fraction of the price, plus no attitude.
I rather do this trade To Rockets Marc Jackson Zoran Planinic Future 1st To Nets Stromile Swift Derek Anderson We need to change the make up of this team. We need tough minded players and Marc Jackson is that. Zoran Planinic gives us size in the backcourt and he can 3 postions.
The question is, would Jaric be better than the guys we have right now? Is he better than Moochie, Barry, Head, DA, Bogans, and Bowen? I say yes, he's a lot better than those guys and he would help right away. I don't see losing Swift as a big problem either. Chuck Hayes is a good enough fill-in, and we can draft a better PF this year.
I don't think Cleveland would take Swift for Gooden - Gooden is much better. They'd have to be really desperate to dump Damon.
That's bologna. Miles' jumper is very good from mid-range and having him and TMac on the floor together would cause all sorts of mismatches. He would be a great 3rd option. With those 3, somebody is always gonna have the post up mismatch, until teams have to go to their bench and bring in a bigger defender.............then with Rafer, we just run it down their throats. Get Miles and don't look back. I can only dream of this lineup: Rafer TMac Miles Yao Swift/Hayes
From CD's comments on Thursday, I think Swift won't be traded (at least) in this season. They still want him to adjust and get more comfortable in JVG's system.
If Miles is so great, why would the Blazers be in a hurry to dump him? And how does Miles fit in with Yao's game? You need to put shooters around Yao, not runners. Miles is a tweener - not enough shot to play SF, not enough size to play PF.
