That dunk...that game...if you watched closely TMac had a lot of spring in his step...it all comes down to rest. He took the last game of the season off.
Just stick this wallet in your mouth so you don't swallow your toungue and get out there and score, Champ.
I get the feeling watching Tracy that he plays at a different pace during stretches. None of us know for sure if his back constantly bothers him or not, but it seems that both he and JVG are currently taking a conservative approach to maintaining his longevity. It's no surprise that as of the return of Yao, T-Mac's getting some extra time on the bench. It also doesn't surprise me that as of the return of Yao, T-Mac is all of the sudden settling for jumpers. I wouldn't be surprised if this conservative approach allows T-Mac to emerge as a more aggressive and attacking player in more crucial situations down the stretch of this season. On a related note, I'm glad to see that JVG has installed some creative screens for McGrady over the last couple of games rather than just posting him up or freeing him up off the pick and roll. I think we'll benefit in a number of ways by having more player movement on the offensive side of the court.
Look, you cant tell by how much he plays becuase he is not going to show the other team its bothering him. But if you look at his game, he drives in maybe once or twice a game. So you can make one of 2 conclusions: 1. His back is still bothering him, so hopefully he will recover from it sometime soon. If not now then in the offseason. 2. He is afraid of getting hurt. I think this would be the most unfortunate thing.
