And wasn't the biggest complaint about the whole Yao tenure here with the Rockets was that there wasn't anyone with the ability to force feed the ball to Yao in the Post.

Finally Rafer is going to be the one.

See, the whole reason I believe this season went down the tubes goes something like this:

Much like last year, we all came into this season figuring that our team might take a little bit to gel. Once they gelled, we figured we'd take off with wins left and right. Unfortunately, everyone started getting hurt, starting with T-Mac at the beginning of the season. From then on, our team was unable to develop any sort of chemistry. That, coupled with the fact that BOTH of our starters have missed most of the games this season, our record SHOULD be where it is.

With all that being said, now that just about everyone is back, I think our team is getting a chance to gel, and you're seeing that not only in the wins we're rolling off (especially since Yao came back), but in the box scores and lines our role players are putting up. You can truly tell a team is fitting in well when a guy like Alston starts putting up double-digit (or close to it) assists most nights.

That being said, I think this entire post was mostly common sense.

I love Rafer's game. The only thing I do not like is his inconsistent outside shot. He hit 5-8 3ptr tonight yet he was 1-16 from beyond the arc in the last 4 games. He seems to hit the 3ptr every time there is a broken play or time running out

Here you go, it's the bittorrent link to And1 Mixtape Volume 1, featuring Skip's moves. You won't be surprised at why he got the nickname Skip to My Lou, it's obvious.

When Yao is fronted, skip's lob passes are so comfortable to watch. Also in transition, he almost never pass the ball to your head or feet, always in the comfort zone. that's what I like.

Amazing how much better Alston looks when he is making that wide open 3pt shot instead of bricking it.

I think it's safe to say a player is getting pretty comfortable when he throws and alley-oop pass from his hip the way Rafer did last night.

cassell was always behind kenny then he was traded and played in PHX with coach ainge and horry's famous towel throwing antics. Cassell was never really a pass first pg he was more of a can do everything good PG and didnt become good at passing until after he left THE DREAM sam took many shots away from DREAM.

Rafer has been great lately. Let us hope he keeps it up and when Sura comes back, Sura can be that pg off the bench that will keep the Rockets rolling while Rafer rests. :)

I'm happy to see Skip coming around. If he can continue to play consistantly, perhaps I'll stop thinking of him as streaky.

wow...I've never seen anyone play D on A.I like Rafer did. He was all over him, swiping the ball out of his hands and making it hard for him to score.

The offense suffered BIG time when he went out of the game last night.

Hopefully he or someone else can keep the 3-point shots going when T-Mac and Yao are doubleteamed.

One thing i've noticed when Yao and Rafer play together: Rafer is able to make the perfect lob pass to Yao when he is being fronted. For the past 3 years, we haven't had a guard that could pinpoint a pass to Yao over a fronting defense. To watch Yao catch a lob pass and turn for an easy layup is just beautiful.

I can always be converted, but, at present, he doesn't impress me. He is a good passer, but a very streakey shooter. He was on last night, but he is usually off. The return of Ming helps and the addition of a shooter could make him tolerable as long as he keeps his turnovers down. I think he dribbles out too much of the clock, looks indecisive.

I really like Rafer's passing. And the good thing is he can still improve on it. He's still missing the little ping pong pass back into Yao when Yao throws it out and re-establishes position. Once he catches on to that, his assists will go up another 2 a game and Yao's PPG will increase by at least 4.

If Rafer can address the fronting problem, he worths being on the team in my book.

There's no need to try to bait anybody, this issue has been beaten to death enough already.

6.1 assists per game vs 2.0 turnovers. I think that is pretty good.
