Anyone else giving the new version of IE a shot? I've been using Firefox for over a year, but since IE finally incorporated tabbed browsing I'm trying it out. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx
No way will I be an early user. Been using Mozilla and then Firefox for several years now and in no hurry to go back. Keep me posted on how it stacks up to Firefox.
I downloaded it and tried it out for like 5 minutes a few days ago. Seemed a lot better (by IE standards), but didn't seem to have anything that made me want to switch from my Firefox/Opera combo. Might give it a better shot later if I hear good things about it, although I doubt that will happen, especially in the beta stages.
I liked it okay. Definitely a lot better than the former IE, but it definitely won't make me switch. Firefox's extensions, themes, and the overall experience are all better, but MS is making progress.
It's better than 6. The tabs are nice, but there are still alot of websites out there that it messes up the format on.
It would be funny if www. microsoft . com didn't display correctly on 7 beta. I will give this a try on a secondary PC and report back. In the meantime, try Opera. They were the pioneers of tabbed browsing.
Is anybody having problems with the latest few versions of Firefox? I've found that on my home PC it seems to eat up huge amounts of memory and slows/crashes quite frequently.
I had memory leak issues with FF 1.5 as well, which prompted me to try out Opera. I like both browsers now, and FF 1.5.0.1 (think that's the latest version) is giving me less problems than before, although there is still some memory leak issues (just not as bad). I’m going to have to try out Opera 9.0 TP2 later today and see how it compares to all the other recent upgrades.
me 2.... and that is why i have also dloaded opera 9, which IS AWESOME, and am using that as a backup to firefox.... opera 9 got built in widgets and built in torrent support.... edit, and i tried Ie7 beta.... I hated it. like a tabbed version of IE with some new skin on it. gimme maxathon browser over that any day(thats if you prefer the IE engine)
