so you think a bikers gets it the worst in a car accident?

thats horrible...this is the reason why i like bmw. the most important thing to me is safety then reliability. too bad bmw's arent that reliable but at least i know im safe! i wonder which cars fair better in crashes, bmw or lexus? this would be important in my next vehicle i purchase which will probally be in a couple of years.

 

Well, don't do 155 like this guy and you won't end up with bike's in your passenger's seat.

Not trying to make light of the situation...but the person driving is far more important than the "safety" of the car. Any car can be safe if you don't drive like a moron.

 

I don't think any car will protect you from a 600 lb mass (rider+bike) moving at 155 mph into the passenger compartment.

 

Your BMW wouldn't do **** to protect you if you got nailed by a motorcycle going 155 mph...

i was goin to buy a new bmw 330 i and i looked at the safety records and for side impact it had a serious risk of injury to the pelvis with a three star rating... i got the accord coupe instead- 5 star all around

bmw is safe handling wise however, never seen a car handle as well as a bmw

 

I wonder how they removed the bodies and cleaned up the vehicles while keeping everything intact.

It was most likely a replica bike. Some companies make a special edition that is identical in appearance to the motorcycles that actually participate in the races.

 

Bingo whoever thinks a simple BMW From the little 3 to the Big 7 series is gonna stop a bike going 150+ miles per hour into a side of a car is gonna help you need some help in physics LOL

 

Just some stat for you, in 2004 Motorcycles comprised 2 percent of all registered vehicles and accounted for only 0.6 percent of all vehicle miles traveled. Motorcycle occupants represented 10.2 percent of all highway-related fatalitis and 11.3 percent of all vehicle occupant fatalities in 2004. These are the Indiana data, I am sure the national data would be similiar if I choose to run it. Motorcyle is way more dangerous than cars.
