just realize T-Mac's shooting 38% (27.7% from 3) for the past 7 games. personally I think he's shooting too much from outside. he should take less outside shot and take it to the hoop more often. i think when T-Mac goes inside he's upstoppable, he'd either make the layup or drew a faul or find a open teammate. he should shoot himself out of slump by making layup and free throws. u think?

I don't think his shot is a big concern because he does heat up quickly but he definitely needs to get to the line more often and make his free throws.

I'm much more happy watching TMAC launch all those shots rather than having people like Rafer toss up bricks.

So no, it's not a concern to me.

I think Tracy has a state of mind where he doesn't concentrate enough early in games. It seems like he doesn't try (results, not by his game) in the earlier 2 quarters and really catches fire in the 3rd. It is pretty apparent, he defers much before the half and then how many times we have just seen him start to catch fire in the 3rd and 4th.

I believe the game is very easy for him and he just seem to impose his will early on. This might also be compounded by the fact his back has been tripping and doesn't want to take it inside. But come Playoff time (assuming we make it) I think he's going to be more fearless in terms of taking it to the hoop and shooting.

Tracy is just better in the clutch which is a good and bad thing. If he didn't defer so much, we might just kill teams early on and let them come back on us.

He's probably just in a slump. Can't play at that level every game.

Can't forget it seems like he has been busted in the face almost every game since he got hit in the nose. If you ever got your nose slammed in.. it hurts like you wouldn't believe. It's most likely affecting his shot..

It's probably better that he doesn't constantly take it inside...he'd take even more of a beating, probably not good for his back and no telling what other injuries it could cause (not to mention his broken nose). Save it for when the game is on the line.

let's just completely disregard the back injury and act like it doesn't impact driving and getting warmed up as the game progresses.

:p Yup! People do tend to forget about TMac's back spasms  sometimes there were tightness on his back tough may not be painful, it restricts one's movements or his shot's release.

you know what, sometimes I have a feeling that T-Mac tends to fake/hype an injury as excuce for not shooting good just not mentally tough enough :(

ok, I'm ready to get killed

I think tmac's got like a career avg of 4.2 ppg in the first half, and then 42 ppg after the first half.

i haven't done some research on this in a while though.

In my 25 years of watching the Rockets, TMac is maybe the 2nd player who can take any shot he wants to in any situation with any number of players guarding him, without me complaining about it. The only other Rocket I could ever say that about was Hakeem.

Yeah, he settles for the jumpshot a lot but I think a lot of that has to do with his back. And it's hard to complain when he gets hot like he did against Seattle the other night. For my money, he can never take too many shots.

I'm more concerned about Alston's shooting; he does brick some shots.

5.2 attemps a game for 3s on 31% shooting.. he only scores 4 or 5 points a game from all those countless numbered 3s..

I don't think its a big concern at all. ASlong as Tmac is there for us at the end of games we will be fine and start pilling up the w's. Go Rockets!!!

t-mac's shooting is probably the very least of the rockets concerns.

but if T-Mac has better shot selection/going strong to the hoop from the begining and then take over in the 3rd/4th we might blow alot of teams out instead play close game everytimes.

There are very few occasions where I believe T-Mac should not shoot the ball at will.
