This one is just not as good as the original. The characters are not as likable and every other week they walk into a place and basically don't give f*ck about who ever is there just do what the hell they want I watch it as part of the sci fi block but. . It is by far the weakest of the Friday shows Rocket River
I think so too. But it is one of the most watched shows on SCI-FI. Typically it gets higher nielsen ratings than the original stargate (by a tenth of a point on average). And occasionally, it'll beat out battlestar galactica too.
it all depends. SG-1 can be a borefest at times. The last two episodes of Atlantis were pretty lame. The remainder episodes definately get better, especially the final two in this season. What i don't like about Atlantis is that they always get themselves in stupid/gullible situations.
I've sampled second tier shows like Galatica and Stargate etc. My question for a long time's been could anybody act aside from veterans like James Olmos and Mary O'connell. Contrast shows like 24, Lost, Shield, all csi's, where the acting is ultra excellent. Is it the budget or the casting people, what's goes?
Them's fighting words. Galatica is better than 99% of the shows on network TV. Starbuck, Apollo, and Dr. Baltar are some of the better actors on the show, and they're all unknown. As an avid watcher of Stargate Atlantis, I will say the show is exceptionally lazy. It suffers from Star Trek Deus Ex Machina Disease, where everyone is saved at the last minute by some stroke of good luck or new technology. I mean, c'mon, how many times will Dr. McKay save the day, anyway? He's worse than Samantha Carter.
I like Atlantis. I think its better than the current SG-1 but not Galactica. SG-1 used good, but I just haven't been able to get into it lately.
Sorry dude! Starbuck, Apollo, and Dr. Baltar are good actors. I was making a general comparison and I still maintain there're too many who needs acting 101.
