If the Yankees aren't in it. Does that sound stupid? Inexplicable? r****ded?

Well, it could happen. Look who's flipping the coin tomorrow.

Makes perfect sense as the NFL must feel no one is really going to watch the game other than Steelers and Seahawks fans, so let's get a heartthrob and multi-Super Bowl winner out there to do the coin toss!

They are just using the excuse of having past Super Bowl MVPs doing this to justify Brady being there when in reality it is a slap in the face of the teams there, especially the Steelers. I don't think it would be that hard to find past SB MVPs who are no longer in the league like John Elway, Terrell Davis, Phil Simms, Joe Montana, etc. who could do the coin toss for tomorrow's game.

I think it would be a great idea. His presence would probably increase ratings by at least 10%, probably more. Anything to help boost ratings. :)

"Slap in the face"? Boost ratings? This is beyond silly. I know the only reason I tuned in to the Rose Bowl was to see Sandy O'Connor's sweet ass.

    It's the freaking coin flip.

I think they should have let Warren Moon do the flip.

Then his career would be complete. Actually getting on the field at a Super Bowl... no thanks to his defensive coaches when he played.

By the way... I love Warren. My first hero in sports... see the sig. Oh, and he made the HOF!

Other than that kind of thought, I have no thoughts on this.

Isnt it kind of embarrasing for Tom Brady to flip the coin. After all he failed to get his team to the Super Bowl. I wouldn't want to show my face around the Super Bowl unless I was TO.

    TO's big Super Bowl Bash!

Hall of Famers should flip the coin. Maybe one from each team there who is already a hall of famer. I can see Congressman Steve Largent better than Terry Bradshaw, but that's my take, clones.

Active players unless participating should not be on the field.

Turns out Montana was supposed to flip the coin, but because the NFL wouldn't pay his $100K appearence fee, he didn't participate in the former MVPs press conf. or the ceremony before the game.

I just saw the new thread that Faos posted. Hmm, I still think they could have gotten someone who was an MVP and NOT an active player in the league.
