Thanks for the heads up, my bf loves these bands. I just looked and it's not listed on Verizon Wireless Theater's website yet for the March 30th concert date.

Please someone bump this thread when you know any ticket informaion. I appreciate it. Do I have to go through ticketmaster for tix? I'm usually anti-convenience fee so I'm curious.

    Thanks.

I have also seen people dressed like that at The Cure and Coldplay concerts I have been to and will probably see some of them at the Sigur Ros concert I am going to. So, I don't think it is really fair to label a band or artist a certain "name" just based on what a portion of their fans like to wear. Hell, I might have been the only non-emo and non-goth dressed person at that Cure concert! :D

Yeah... a non-emo band can have emo fans. Franz doesn't sound at all emo to me.

Well, that's good, because nobody said they were emo.

    Clever... :p

Well, that's peachy, because YOU said "emo fan boys unite" and I am saying that those bands have other types of fans. :)

If you want to get literal about it

i remember when that place was called around the world club, before it was emo's. it all when downhill when they took that fetid cesspool out of the courtyard and stopped all the piss and **** from backing up and overflowing in the bathrooms. yep, those were the days.

Remember after Pulp Fiction came out they turned Club Some into this trippy magician and Portishead and juggler club?

woohoo, i've seen death cab twice in the past 6 months and franz once.

Btw The Strokes tickets just went on sale at 5PM today for their concert on March 15 at Verizon Wireless.

You can buy either through Ticketmaster today, or Pace Concerts/Live Nation tommorrow. Might be cheaper handling fee with Live Nation. Not sure. But concert will sell out soon.

Euh. Ben Gibbard needs to release another Postal Service album. I like the Postal Service more than Death Cab, for sure. His voice is so suited for electronica. Oh and being a female, I can't stand the bohemian whores at Death Cab shows now. A lot of them are there because looking "emo" is cool, or they heard about the band from the OC, or they're into "scene" emo boys or girls. What happened to appreciating the music.

But thats my entire problem with the alternative and hardcore music scene.

That's a problem in any popular music scene. I don't like the music any less just because some tools are hanging around some venues. Hit the smaller shows and you'll get a more genuine crowd.

I don't find that problem at the actual concerts themselves. Take for example a Death Cab concert. At most places they play they allow about 1000 people max, like say Stubbs BBQ or Numbers. In the North, the venues become even smaller. Anyways, the people who get the tickets for the shows are generally the true fans of the band. They are the ones who know about the concerts first and thus get the tickets before they sell out. The shows are usually packed with about 75% true fans, who know the lyrics to every song. The rest 25% is filler crowd who probably bought their ticket from a scalper since it seems like the cool thing to do. These are probably the fans who heard of the band from the "OC or sort." But most of these ppl who watch the OC are like 16 years old. I don't see many of them at Death Cab concerts.

Postal Service is a great band. I heard something along the lines of 2008, might be their next project.

I stil find it kind of odd that FF and DCFC would join a tour together. They could easily headline their own tour, as both bands have done in the past. The last FF concert I went to was one of the most energetic performances I've ever seen. I could imagine if the teamed up together they would attempt to play at Reliant Arena or something, but a venue like Verizon Wireless could easily fill up for fans of each band singularily. I certainly would go to both. I guess I save a couple of bucks.

Blech. I don't like Postal Service at all. But then, I loath electronic music with a passion. That's the reason I don't listen to Radiohead anymore. Different strokes I guess.

Bohemian whores? So uh.....when do Houston tickets go on sale? ;)

Seriously, this is the reason I don't go to many shows anymore. I detest any kind of "scene" period. I'm too old for that kind of nonsense. I'd much rather just throw on a pair of jeans and a comfortable shirt (that I don't mind sweating in) and go listen to the band. But yeah, what you described is what you get at a lot of small venue shows. At least in my experience.
