I was listening to the radio and someone brought up the argument that Paul Peirce is having a superior season to TMac [no duh.] . . they were saying besides the injuries basically they said basketball wise They about Equal but Paul was more of a competitor I have not watched much of Paul this season could someone who has . . shed some light Rocket River
Pierce is good, but not McGrady or Kobe or Lebron good, he's more like Carmelo good...and no, I am not talking about stats, I am talking about abilities and basketball talent.
What he said.. ^^ I, actually like Pierce's game. But he is not at that elite level of Tmac. He is a well rounded player, but everything Piece can do, Tmac can do better, and more.
pierce is a ballhog that can score. mcgrady is someone you build a championship team around. he has the possibility of being something VERY special. pierce is perhaps a rich man's stackhouse.
The pieces he's had around him over the years haven't exactly been overwhelming. It'll be interesting to see how he does on his next team, if that team is one that is a major piece away from contending. Boston just doesn't make the right moves. Being from Boston, I love the Celtics but I never expect anything from them, unlike the Rockets. I don't know if Ainge knows what he's doing.
Ask yourself this: Who in the NBA can be consistently relied upon to hit a game winning shot? Seriously. When I watch TMac at the end of close games, I get the feeling that he has it well in hand and will make the game winner 70% of the time. I don't get that feeling from watching Kobe, Lebron, Melo, and DEFINITELY NOT Pierce. Pierce can get a good stat line but Tmac's impact on the game is much greater.
I don't. Only Tmac. I guess it's because Tmac is smarter with the ball and willingly gives clutch shots to teammates (Head). So when Tmac shoots at the end of games, you know he's in rythm.
i love tmac. but the person i want with the ball with 5 seconds left is kobe. no doubt. hopefully after we make this playoff run and perhaps a run in the playoffs i can choke on my words.
Don't get me wrong, Pierce is pretty darn good, he's just not "franchise player" good. His personality and stubborn ways reminds me a lot of Stevie. I like him though, he's a nice player.
Like everyone said, T-mac is just overall better than Pierce. IMHO though, T-mac distributes the ball a LOT which increases the productivity of the team, and when needed, also creates his own shot better than pp. Whoever said that they are on the same level is an idiot.
This is the same Paul Pierce we've been hearing about now for years that Boston wants to trade...blah blah blah.......
It's like comparing a Porsche to a Ferrari. Porsche is pretty nice but Ferrari (Tmac) is on another level.
Well Put! I was trying to think of a good metaphor as I was reading the posts, but I see you've got it nailed.
