Be careful with your e-mails from work

yeah, in a perfect world you can send out an email making fun of black people to a bunch of people you don't know. and I don't know what your point is about everything being racial, when the joke is racial in nature. you can't chalk everything up to political correctness. if the dude wasn't stupid and sent the email to a bunch of people he didn't know, he would still have a job.

this guy at my old job accidently sent out an email to me that was pretty raunchy, he's lucky he didn't send it to the wrong person.

I once accidently replied to an email sent by my former employer's human resources department about a new program they were rolling out, where I made fun of the program. I meant to send it to the girl sitting right next to me. it was pretty embarassing but luckily the lady wasn't offended.

if you're making the point that people should just accept the joke and not be offended I think that's silly. I've see this email. his true stupidity was sending out a five year old email like its new. but he made a mistake, unfortunatey he works in a public relations position which makes the mistake worse for him.

I understand the first part of your post. why don't you post the whole thing. you wrote in a perfect world that joke would be acceptable, did you not. I don't care about the qualifer at the end.


and then you said the world is flawed, therefore people are offended meaning you justified his action twice.

 

thanks for putting words into my mouth. i said we live in a flawed world, where everying is racial. is our society not racially based? have you been living a bubble?

in a perfect world, without "racism", there would be no source of offense. but in a real/flawed world, there is racism, therefore everthing is "racial".

yeah that's very clear, that's like saying, in a perfect world, no one would take offense to the KKK because there would be no racism. see how silly that sounds.

i think you have a serious "mad at the world" complex. you're attacking someone who is in complete agreement with you regarding racial matters. you want to see evil in all statements, and therefore you twist them around.

did you say the email is accceptable in a perfect world. yes therefore you're not on my side of the argument. if you believe that the world is flawed because someone may take offense to the email you are not on my side. did you not write that.

never once said anyting was acceptable. merely responded to bogey stating that people should "lighten up". in a perfect world/utopia (an impossbility), everyone is tolerant of everyone else and no one gets angry. contrast that with the real world, where people have self-respect and dignity.

do you understand where i was going with this? i was saying that people who are offended, have a right to be offended, and should not be expected to "lighten up".

I get it, the world isn't perfect because people have dignity and self-respect and is imperfect because they do. yeah that makes perfect sense.

Couldn't agree more. I've got a few email accounts and won't even use the same program for my work email as for my personal email to avoid even unintentional personal emails being sent to people I deal with professionally.
