There appears to be a fire sale in Toronto. If do not get any good deals by trade deadline then, how about at the deadline we trade the expiring contracts of Wesley and Norris for Mo Pete and Eric Williams and a future Ist rounder. EW has one more year left after this and could be moved in the off season. Thouhts.........

Fire sale? They just traded Jalen so why would they trade Mo Pete. He has a reasonable salary and is still young.

I always thought MoPete and EW would be great in a Rockets uni. MoPete is a bigger SG that we could use, he's a good shooter and more athletic than any other SG we currently have.

EW would be the perfect backup for TMac. He's one of those role players that knows how to play the game.

    I would do DW/Moochi/2007 1st Rounder for MoPete/EW.

If you were the Rockets management -thank goodness you aren't- and rung the Raptors proposing this deal, they would slam the phone right in your face.

Even though they are expiring contracts, the Raptors can get an infinitely better deal for that package of Peterson/Williams/1st round pick, then two scrubs, who would be buried deep in their bench anyways.

Just a reminder -- we have basically the same record as Toronto. I wonder how many teams out there are wondering if they're going to have a "fire sale" in Houston.

Harrington, Francis, Dunleavy, Pietrus, Maggette, Patterson, Miles?????

Why not one of these guys? What if the Clips wanted some expirings to pick up Dunleavy with and we could get Maggette from them?

That's the type of talent we need, a $6-$8 million swingman who can light up the scoreboard and defend. Yeah, Maggette's coming off injury. We gotta take the risk. That's the type of talent we need, somebody with some size, and 3-6 years experience who can put up 20 a night and defend.

I wonder if we can land Miles.

Granted, he can't shoot real well, but he'd give us some height and size and quickness at the 3/2 spots.

Expiring contracts + our likely lottery pick? Why not. We'd have the #2 and #3 guys from the same draft (Stro + Miles). Don't know what to make of that.

Miles is an outstanding mid-range shooter. Watch his game. He is money from the 17 feet out on the left side of the floor all the way down to the baseline, which is exactly where a SF should be getting his shots at. Plus, imagine TMac and Miles on the floor together at the 2 3 spots. Bonzi and Artest matching up to that? Manu and Bowen matching up to that?? Give me a break. We get a post-up set out of every trip down the floor, take your pick. You wanna get athletic? Throw Darius out there with TMac, Stro, Rafer, and Head.

I have wished we could get Miles this whole season if you can't tell. I think he's coming into his own. We probably could have gotten him pretty cheaply last season and I knew he'd break out this year. His injury set him back, but he is going to be a good value player for Portland or whoever has him for the next few years providing he keeps his head screwed on straight. Van Gundy could keep him in line.

Not so sure it would be a "fire sale" in Houston so to speak. More like a "charcoal briquets sale"...

Miles has a 10 cent head. No one can fix that.

    Mo Pete is an underachiever.

    Yuck.

Very true! A sad reminder of where we are record-wise. It still is hard for me to believe our record and look at us at the bottom of the standings considering we are a lot better than that.

I am sure there are a number of teams in the league hoping to jump on Stromile right now, get him at a cheap price. Now is not the time to move Stro.

Getting back to the subject of this thread: Mo Peterson. I have campaigned for Mo Pete for a while now in these threads when his name gets brought up. He would be a great fit here on the Rockets. His personality would fit on this team and he wouldnt rock the boat. He has nice length at 6'8" where he can play the 2/3 poisition next to Tmac. He has a very good 3pt shot. And he is a decent perimeter defender. His contract is 4.5M this year and next. I am not sure the Raptors would move Mo, he is cheap, young and fits well on that team. But I would love to have him on our team.

Would Mo be the 3rd scorer we are looking for? I dont know per se. He would be a good fit, but he is not the kind of guy that will take people off the dribble, but he is a nice complimentary player. A good fit.

Aiin't gonna happen, no way the Mo Pete gets traded especially after the Jalen deal. The Rapts will keep the guy just because of his durability, plays hurt game in and game out.

Mo Pete won't move from from TO...at least not now! Good thing they got rid of Rose's salary, but too bad they had to join a 1st rounder to trade him
