I saw this last night in the pre-game allstar announcement before the Heat v. Cavs. He said the Nuggets contacted the Magic about acquiring Steve while he was suspended and talks could heat up again before the trade deadline. He said the Nuggets have 3 Point guards (Miller, Boykins & watson) and would like to get rid of two of them. I can't imagine Orlando taking on Boykins and Watson for Stevie when they are already undersized at the Point with J. Nelson. I don't think they would want to take on V. Lenard who is sulking and wants to play for a contender. It would be interesting if Stevie ended up there but probably bad for the Rockets b/c I think it would improve the Nugs.
nene would probably get packaged as well: Nene + Watson for Steve would be the core of the package, salaries would be tough to match however.
wow-- his trade value has gone down....we got Tmac for him and now for a watson/miller/ boykins (2out3)...thats horrible
i don't think it's a bad deal for orlando at all. andre miller has always been a very solid point guard at the least, and at his best, he's a top 10 point guard. he can score if he needs to, and more importantly, he will get dwight howard the ball. plus, he's big and strong enough to be a very good perimeter defender (if he wants to be), something that jameer nelson and francis both lack.
I wouldn't give up Miller, he plays well with another PG in the same backcourt, however, this is the final year of his contract, they might lose him anyway.
i believe francis is worth more than a wally/hassell he might come with alot of baggage but he can still play..i really think hes on same path as a starberry
To dump SF's contract and move on into the future. He's due $49MM/3yrs after this season. SF's game doesn't compliment Dwight Howard. For that matter, SF's game doesn't compliment anyone but SteveO himself. I think they would trade him in a heartbeat. If he had another fresh start, maybe he will finally learn the team game of basketball.
Steve should just retire, he's just not a good basketball player, nobody likes him except Cuttino, and he doesn't help his teammates, retire Steve.
you guys who think Francis and Howard don't compliment each other couldn't be more wrong. he's the exact type of big man steve works well with. can catch the ball on the move. gets a couple of alley oops a game. its just a stupid comment for anyone who has watched more than five magic games a year. I admit that Steve and Yao didn't exactly fit, mainly because steve never was a good spot up shooter, but that's not what you need with howard because he doesn't pass much anyway.
indeed they are, http://asp.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/salaries/playerdetail.aspx?lname=M&player=263
Notice how the salary for Miller is blank instead of $0. That means that his contract does run through those years, but they can't figure out the actual yearly breakdowns.
actually no, hoopshype is just wrong. IF we assume as you say that the contract runs through those years, then his contract expires in 2010/2011 when in actuality it expires after 2008/2009.
Yeah, now that I remember he signed a long term deal with the Nuggets, with some weird circumstances because they didn't want the Clippers to match, I think they overpaid or something like that.
Imagine Crymelo and Stevie on the same team......... Do u think there is enough ball to share between them???
