I can tell by your eyes that you've prob'bly been cryin' forever, and the stars in the sky don't mean nothin' to you, they're a mirror. I don't wanna talk about it, how you broke my heart. If I stay here just a little bit longer, If I stay here, won't you listen to my heart, whoa, heart? If I stand all alone, will the shadow hide the colors of my heart; blue for the tears, black for the night's fears. The star in the sky don't mean nothin' to you, they're a mirror. I don't wanna talk about it, how you broke my heart. If I stay here just a little bit longer, if I stay here, won't you listen to my heart, whoa, my heart? I don't wanna talk about it, how you broke this ol' heart. If I stay here just a little bit longer, if I stay here, won't you listen to my heart, whoa, my heart? My heart, whoa, heart.
I picked up his Closing Time record at a flea market a week ago because I liked the idea of a song named "Grapefruit Moon." The whole album is amazing! Now I'm hungry for more. Which one should I go for next? He does capture melancholy quite well.

To the country music fans out there.........and since everyone is posting lyrics, i guess I will too! George Jones - He Stopped Loving Her Today He said "I'll love you till I die." She told him:"You'll forget in time." As the years went slowly by, She still preyed upon his mind. He kept her picture on his wall, Went half-crazy now and then. He still loved her through it all, Hoping she'd come back again. Kept some letters by his bed, Dated nineteen sixty-two. He had underlined in red, Every single "I love you". I went to see him just today, Oh, but I didn't see no tears. All dressed up to go away, First time I'd seen him smile in years. He stopped loving her today, They placed a wreath upon his door. And soon they'll carry him away, He stopped loving her today. You know, she came to see him one last time. Aww, an' we all wondered if she would. And it kept runnin' through my mind: "This time he's over her for good." He stopped loving her today, They placed a wreath upon his door. And soon they'll carry him away, He stopped loving her today.
Leader of the Band - Either by John Fogleberg or a sound a like Wildfire - Either by John Fogleberg or a sound a like I'm just kidding with those of course, but a lot of girls in jr. high used to cry at both of those songs. For me there are a lot, but here are some of them. I'm So Lonesome I could Cry - Hank Williams Hear that lonesome whippoorwill, He sounds too blue to fly. The midnight train is whining low, I'm so lonesome I could cry. I've never seen a night so long When time goes crawling by. The moon just went behind a cloud To hide its face and cry. Did you ever see a robin weep, When leaves began to die? That means he's lost the will to live, I'm so lonesome I could cry. The silence of a falling star Lights up a purple sky. And as I wonder where you are I'm so lonesome I could cry. Kawliga - Hank Williams. I know it is kind of supposed to be humerous, but when I was 4 years old this song made me cry. REM - Wendell Gee The The - Love is Stronger Than Death All This Useless Beauty - Elvis Costello Satellite - Elvis Costello Shipbuilding - Elvis Costello Chance - Big Country Come Back to Me - Big Country A Change is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke Sweet Betsy From Pike - Traditional Irish Folk music
raindogs is great but i would suggest the heart of saturday night instead. if you like closing time, this album is closer in feel and sound. every song on it is sad. like this: I'm leavin' my fam'ly Leavin' all my friends My body's at home But my heart's in the wind Where the clouds are like headlines On a new front page sky My tears are salt water And the moon's full and high And I know Martin Eden's Gonna be proud of me And many before me Who've been called by the sea To be up in the crow's nest Singin' my say Shiver me Timbers 'Cause I'm a-sailin' away And the fog's liftin' And the sand's shiftin' I'm driftin' on out Ol' Captain Ahab He ain't got nothin' on me, now. So swallow me, don't follow me I'm trav'lin' alone Blue water's my daughter 'n I'm gonna skip like a stone So please call my missus Gotta tell her not to cry 'Cause my goodbye is written By the moon in the sky Hey and nobody knows me I can't fathom my stayin' Shiver me timbers 'Cause I'm a-sailin' away And the fog's liftin' And the sand's shiftin' I'm driftin' on out Ol' Captain Ahab He ain't got nothin' on me So come and swallow me, follow me I'm trav'lin' alone Blue water's my daughter 'n I'm gonna skip like a stone And I'm leavin' my family Leavin' all my friends My body's at home But my heart's in the wind Where the clouds are like headlines Upon a new front page sky And shiver me timbers 'Cause I'm a-sailin' away
