Great pics. I liked the Pondicherry pics alot. Brings back old memories of that part of Madras when I was stationed there.

Kerala is beautiful. So mush of it is still green, lush and untouched.

And I think you can also find some asian-looking people in the eastern and southern border regions of Russia.

Did it have a proper bathroom? Was it clean?

How many decent hotels are there?

Not to steal Sam's thunder or anything but here is a great picture of Athens, Greece, from the Acropolis that I took in early January:

I would love to go back someday...

Manny - great pic. Yanni really put that place on the map.

It's a kind of typical run-down communist era hotel. It was allegedly a 3-star hotel, but was way overpriced for what it was. There's a brand new 4-star one there. If I went back I would stay there or just go to one of the 1-2 star budget places.

In CHina, hotel value is so spotty - you can find clean, perfectly acceptable rooms in some one stars for a pittance , or sometimes you go to the 3 star and it's a hellhole. Always ask to see the room first.

Overall in terms of hotels - Thailand and Vietnam offered kick-ass value for the dollar/baht/dong in my experience. India also had some pretty killer deals.
