Want to take wife out to a nice dinner. Don't mind spending money if it's nice. Would appreciate any suggestions from those that have been recently out on the town. We're married w/ kid and one on the way, so we haven't done the fancy dinner in a little while. thanks.

Very upscale reseverations only is the Brownstone. They don't even have a menu I think.. Its on Richmond and It's like a house.. not even a restaurant atmosphere.
Marks is nice. Brennan is nice. Riley- Have you been to Fogo De Chao? My family loves that place. It's a brazillian restuarant that has the waiters walking around with skewers of meat. Comes with mash potatoes, some sort of cheese rolls (most delicious thing I've ever eaten), full veggies bar. It's a very unique dining experience if you've never been. Try Fogo if you've never eaten there.
I always drive by Fogo De Choa and i always wanted to go there i have heard rave reviews...but it costs quite a bit. A more casual place that still exhibits the somewhat romantic atmosphere is Cheesecake factory, especially the one in first colony.
Thanks to everyone for the recs. Our favorite fine dining restaurant is Marks. I might go again, but was thinking something difft. I've been to a lot of the ones suggested. On Fogo, that's just meat heaven. I've been there and never been disappointed. Not quite a romatic, quiet evening place tho. I'm looking for something fancier in decor and service. I'm kinda thinking french. Don't know if any of the following are french: Aldo's Lynn's Aries Crapitto's Cafe Annies also, if there are any particular dishes at these places to try, or avoid, im all ears. thanks again.
I second Cafe Annie. I have eaten there a half dozen times and everytime it impresses. Its French with a Southwestern flair.
I'd recommend this too...not too snobish, plus the food rocks... I haven't been out in Houston for a while, but you can never go wrong with The Palms or for something a little less stuffy, go to Ruggles...
