    I've looked at the Rockets schedule in February and predict that they will win the next nine in a row and lose only two games in the entire month. Now, it's entire possible to say that this prediction is me pulling something out of my ass...but what comes out of my ass is usually thoughtful. Besides getting more players back from injury, if you look at the schedule in the next week or so its kind of fluffy. All this team needs is confidence and when they beat Milwaukee, Seattle, New York, and Philadelphia fairly easily it wont be hard to push past LA and Utah. They will lose to the Clippers and the Suns (@ home) this month. Right now the Hornets are 22-22 and in 8th place. By March the Rockets will be 2 games out of the 8th spot. I'm pretty confident in this.

    Wed 1 Milwaukee
    Fri 3 Seattle
    Sun 5 @ New York
    Mon 6 @ Philadelphia
    Wed 8 L.A. Lakers
    Sat 11 Utah
    Sun 12 New York
    Tue 14 @ L.A. Clippers
    Thu 16 @ Phoenix
    Wed 22 L.A. Clippers
    Fri 24 Golden State
    Sun 26 @ Orlando
    Mon 27 Phoenix

    Big call - but i also think its possible.

    What upsets me is that whenever someone does their weekly/monthly predictions, we always expect to lose against a team that is challenging for as stop spot. Aren't we just admitting we have no chance to win it anyway?

    You're right in doing so because a loss has to come sometime, i would prefer a couple of big wins over phoenix than beating teams that we should really have no trouble with in the first place.

    I have faith in our team once the playoffs begin, especially on the road. Let's make the haters/doubtor's/bandwagoners eat their words.

    The Rockets are going to beat the Clippers and the Suns on their home courts?! Have you seen those teams play recently? I hope you are correct, but they must start playing much better, and soon.

    Like I said in the Game Thread:

    Yall do know we are 0-9 in our own division right? Yall do know we are last in the West again right?

    That's unacceptable.

    Our February schedule:

    Bucks
    Sonics
    @Knicks
    @76ers
    Lakers
    Jazz
    Knicks
    @Clippers
    @Suns
    Clippers
    Warriors
    @Magic
    Suns

    New Orleans' February scheduele:

    Bulls
    Lakers
    @Nets
    Sonics
    Knicks
    @Timberwolves
    Wizards
    Trail Blazers
    @Pacers
    Jazz
    @Jazz
    @Trail Blazers
    @Sonics

    --

    Our schedule seems fairly easy if Yao gets back into game shape and T-Mac starts rolling again. If we go 9-4 or 10-3 throughout February, we've got a great shot at stealing the 8th spot.

    New Orleans' schedule is basically their easy part of the season, but hopefully the only wins they get are against the Trail Blazers and the Knicks.

    If they go 5-9, it will leave them at 26-31. If we end up going 9-4, our record will be 24-33, leaving plenty of time to make the push for the 8th seed and with less pressure.

    Of course this all depends on how the other low level West teams are playing and pending any other injuries.

    Clippers are overrated. The Suns don't play any defense. It'll be a cakewalk. anyways, we'll have Derek Anderson back by then. The Rockets can't be beat with Rafer, Mcgrady, Anderson, and Yao in the lineup. It just can't happen.

    Baby steps.

    I’m hopeful for maybe a couple of 3-4 game win streaks the next month.

    To expect the team to go from worst team in the West to suddenly being consistently great is expecting a bit much. It doesn’t just happen overnight.

    If we win the next 9 games, then I guess the thread starter is the CED

    We HAVE to have a near perfect month to even get back in this thing. We only have 4 real tough games based on opponenets alone...the Suns and Clips twice each. Neither of those teams are that dominating either, so it's quite possible that we take 3/4 of those games. We just have to make sure we take care of these teams we're supposed to beat, which seems to always be a problem.

    Well, as a team at the very bottom of the west conference, what team is Rockets supposed to beat? We are the worst team in west conference until proven otherwise. There is no given, Rockets must fight through the whole game, not just a few stretchs. Great teams don't need a sense of urgency (as pointed out by JVG), so if you are not a great team then at least you should hav e a sense of urgency now in order to fight through the whole game. So let's hope there is a sense of urgency in every player.
