Where do you guys to go satisfy your poker jones?

I know there are a couple of bars around town that hosts weekly tournaments where you can win prizes (but not real money). Does anyone here play in those tournaments?

How about casinos? How far is the nearest legit cardroom? Which ones are your favories?

    And how about underground cardrooms?

I tried looking up poker in Houston at meetup.com but didn't see a whole lot of listings....

There are TONS of underground places to play real poker in houston. Playing at bars sucks because no real money is involved.

MoBalls - how'd you like playing in the bar? Is it more friendly since no real money is involved? What kind of stuff can you win?

macalu - even if I were a cop, I wouldn't turn in a fellow Clutchfan. OK, I might turn in TMac640, but he deserves it. :D (I'm doing an article about underground clubs, so I'll definitely email you and get some quotes from your friend, who could remain anonymous!)

reggietodd - can I email you as well?

Mulder - Excellent link! Do you go on that forum as well?

Sure. I think I have the email function turned back on. Last email I got from this board, someone asked me if I wanted to sex mutumbo so I turned off the email on my profile.

    At the butt-naked club.

Liquor in the front! Poker in the rear!

It was fun since I played with some folks here and win it all made it even better. What did I win...Nothing. They do still send me invites to other events via email.

Oh..................Bragging rights is what I walked away with. But that was a long time ago....we need to do that again.

Ya, I go on there and play on the online freerolls and have played in a live tourney up north. They are nice guys and all the games are always 100% LEGAL.

Ha ha ha. By posting that you will probably get another couple of hundred emails asking you the same question. I'll probably contact you next week about the Mutumbo...errr... I mean the poker thing. Thanks! :)

OK, fess up people. Who here got owned by Moballs. :D

That's great to know. I heard Texas has been busting a lot of games, even charity games.

I went to a couple card houses over break. It's easy to find a good game if you know someone who's serious about poker. I just went to a friend and he knew someone who knew someone. I don't have the card from the places I went to, so sorry I can't be of much help - connections is all you need. Houston definitely has some good games around, I do know that much.

Prostitutes, pimps, hustlers, heist men and drug dealers even have business cards these days. Unfortunately, some are in my Rolodex.

Whether or not having those connections is "unfortunate" is a matter of opinion. ;)

Online. You can play whenever you want, however you want.

I recommend you to search more about the website before you play.

If you need recommendation, just tell me.

Yeah, online games are great, and they are a good way to satisfy your poker jones. But sometimes, you just want to play with people face to face. :)
