i orderd Cetirinzine HCL from Canada, the brand name would be Zyrtec. here it would cost me $20 for 25 tablets, but i ordered 90 from canada for only $30, but i am wondering if its just as potent as its brandname counter part, they both are in the same amount.

It's the same thing, from the same place that makes the stuff you'd buy at the CVS around the corner. The only difference is price.

Unless it's some really shady fly-by-night, which it probably isn't - the people I know who have ordered their drugs from Canada have had no problems at all.

EDIT: Oh, I just realized you were asking about the comparison between generic and prescription drugs. Nevermind.

Look for the amount of key ingredients on both labels. If they are the same and you trust the Canadians, then why not [as potent]?

Generics and Brand Names have the same active ingredient and the same strength. If you buy drugs from Canada, it will always be cheaper simply because they have price regulations on prescription drugs. There are 2 problems though...1) Do you trust these online pharmacies? 2) It is actually illegal to purchase drugs from Canada and overseas in the state of Texas. FDA actually told the Texas State Board of Pharmacy to stop their plan of online ordering from Canadian pharmacies. There is this website that has certifications for online pharmacies, so you won't order from an illegal pharmacy.

Yes its the same thing, only exception is if you are actually taking zyrtec-d which has an OTC decongestant in it.

Generic and brand names at same strength are exactly the same. Only notable exception I have ever heard is some people can not tolerate the generic of synthroid (levothyroxine), which seems to have a different strength than its prescription counterpart.
