[*] Cuttino goes the length of the court, jukes Scottie and goes hard to the basket as Scottie tries to act like a charge was made. Two and the foul.

[*] Scottie fakes and pumps about 3 times about 5-7 feet out from the basket baseline, goes up one final time and Walt on the way down from a fake knocks the ball right out of his hands. Scottie had that -- "what the h..." look on his face. Hey, so did I.

[*] Cato's slam with 11 seconds left to tie the game and force OT. Me and my brother watching the game erupted when he slammed that one home.

Earlier in the day my wife got tickets for us to the 9:55pm "Toy Story 2" showing and I kept thinking ALL DAY, "As long as we don't go OT I should be OK .... "

Dammit, wouldn't you know it? Had to leave right as OT started. I didn't find out we lost until close to midnight. Only bright spot was the movie was great.

I was just happy to see Cat playing Quitten like a flute.

I think I saw him say "You can't play me" or "You can't guard me" or something like that to Scottie in the fourth. He held Quitten down to 2 pt I think in the 3rd & 4th quarters... Lovely play.

All hail Cat... All Hell from Cat. Whatever... The man can play. Makes Quitten look like a putten...

Did you hear "Cat" called Pippen his mentor and he loved him, after the game? That really will make Chuck happy.

Rockets' biggest problem is not player talent levels, it is the coach's ineptitude.

Pippen already knew Cat got game. Wasn't it Pippen who (after committing THE TURNOVER) suggested to Rudy that the next play should go to Cuttino (game 1 vs Lakers)?

The "kick-ball-coulda-been a steal- but turned over ball"? That was a really dumb turnover coming from an all-star... It cost us the series.

The decision to give that ball to Cat was brilliant, ShaQ just got a swat at it. Sh*t happens, but it was a good play. It definitely was NOT what the rest of the LA roster was looking for... ShaQ. What else needs be said...

    Next time.

    Next time.

Next time we'll send it to Matt for a 3. Next time we'll dump it to Kelvin for two.
Next time we'll send it to Stevie wonder, and like a blind man he'll make another highlight dunk with a foul...

That time we relied on Cat to do it all. He's gotten much better since the last run.

You DO know why they call him "Cat", don't you?

Great game. Even if we lost. And for once you can't blame Bryce Drew! He was in with Barkley, Rogers, Mobley, got the Rockets on a run to get them close. To me, it looks like Bryce Drew has a lot better control of the ball then he used to. I think Stevie Francis is showing him a thing or two. But he still looks hesitant to drive the lane and make contact. Nice job Drew.

Yes, I of the "drop kick Drew" campaign, will give the little guy his due. He played with poise and balance, and didn't cost us the game. Now if he can do it night in and night out....: )...

Favorite moment ? No doubt. The Cato slam off the miss to match the score at 80.....wow.

My favorite moment from the game... The whole damn thing watching Mobley work Pippen over then thinking to myself, "Thank God the Rockets aren't paying this guy's insanely over-inflated salary anymore..."

Axeman, that's right on. Overinflated and escalating contract. Just think if we still had him and we were at .500 right now going nowhere with last years team.

It was really a great summer.

Without any doubt the Cato slam at the end that sent us into overtime! I came out of my seat with that one. However, the whole game was "a great moment", because even though we lost the game, I think we gained confidence. Alot of sports sucess revolves around confidence! The Rockets have played well in 3 of the last 4 games (Seattle, Dallas & Portland). Even with Francis, Dream and Massenburg injured, we gave a healthy (except a < than 100% Brian Grant) Portland team all they could handle at their own crib! Compared to the way we started the season against Milwaukee at home, that has to be uplifting.

With Dream and Massenburg injured, this is Cato's chance to get out of the DOGHOUSE! He should capitalize on this opportunity by playing great defense (making Rudy happy) and helping the team to get their running game jump started. Cato can be a "MAN AMONGST BOYS" defensively! Did anyone notice how many air balls Portland shot once Cato came into the game and had a few minutes to make his presence felt defensively? Sure Sabonis scored a few hook shots, but who in the league can block that shot. After the first few scores down low by Sabonis, Cato even shut him down by denying him good position in the post. After Sabonis got in foul trouble, Wallace, Oneal, Grant and Pippen couldn't buy one down low with Cato in there. THESE NEXT 5 GAMES ARE KELVIN CATO TIME against two bad teams and a Phoenix team with no real serious offensive presence down low. If Cato plays to his defensive strengths, he can help turn this team around RIGHT NOW!!! Congratulations to Cato on a GREAT game against Portland!

    My favorite moment:

I watched the game with my dad, who's not all that big a sports fan. As both teams struggled to throw the ball in the ocean down the stretch, he turned to me and asked innocently, "These are professional teams, right?"

    Kagy,
Funny, my girlfriend was giving me the same look... right after she asked me, who ARE these guys (speaking of the Rox)?
BTW Toy Story 2 was ruined for me because my sister told me how AWESOME it was.
    (huh...)
