i voted baxter but that was bc i could go either lucas or baxter depends on what happens with Swift i aint managment, but anyways you keep hayes period he has changed the personality of the team, and Dwes who thought the season was lost in his around the bout comment in the chronicle you are about to be shipped to indiana have fun, but thanks for playing hard last night you do always bring it.
I think JL3 is gone. Hayes has shown great promise, but he too has a good chance of disapearing. I think Lonnie will stay.
I guess even JVG couldn't make up his mind yet. What a difficult decision to make. I will wait after the Charlotte game. The youngsters have to show us all they have in their bags. Oh, can we actually wait until then?
We signed JL3 and Chuck Hayes to their 10-day contracts on Jan 18th (see link below); therefore, I believe we have until after the Minnesota game on Friday to make a decision. http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/Rockets_Ink_Chuck_Hayes_to_10-164705-822.html
I don't think we can get anything for Mooch, unless he is being packaged as part of a larger deal - so I would really like to see him jettisoned first. Lucas has been playing and seems a lot steadier handling the rock than Mooch, and probably shoots about the same as Mooch right now, with every chance that he will soon calm down get his handles on his shots and pass Mooch by.
Not really, all the other guys have guaranteed contracts making it very unlikely for them to be cut. I voted Baxter since Swift and Yao should be back soon and I really want to see more of Hayes. But it will probably be JL3.
I'm hoping a 2 for 1 or 3 for 2 trade is on its way, and we can keep all three of them ... and somehow unload Moochie. Even though I have been dissappointed in Bowen's play of late, I have a feeling we're meeting Dallas in the playoffs, and we need the Dirkinator ...
moochie! if we are to base it on CD's interview from another thread, he has long term plans for lucas and hayes.
Let me see Moochie, Da, Barry, Bowen, and Stro. Either one these guys. Can someone come up with a trade that will get 3 of the above out of Houston??
I am sorry to say that Lucas should be the one to go but only if BOB SURA is returning to play the rest of the season.
If the Rockets like John Lucas, I'm sure they're exploring trade options right now. Barring a deal, I'm sure it will be him for the financial aspect alone. Bowen and Moochie have guaranteed deals... Lucas is on the second 10-day deal, and unless the CBA changed and I'm not aware, they have to sign him to a deal for the rest of the season or let him go.
If there is no way to trade Mooch or no desire to add a player with a contract beyond this season (for Mooch's contract) then, if they like Luke, why not just cut Norris? There is no savings, beyond 1/2 season of a minimum contract.
you say JLIII is gone???? FOOLS!!! He posesses what every other Rocket on our roster lacks. SPEED!!! The kid also posseses tremendous heart. He knows hes undersized, so you know he will work his tail off. Dont be a fool Rockets!!! Keep all 3!!! Get rid of some of those injured old farts rotting away on the bench and hardwood. I dont care if you have to buy them out. Only other true Point Guard we have besides Rafer is Moochie, who doesnt even play.
That's correct. This is from today's journeyman article. The Rockets will face several decisions Saturday when Lucas' second and Hayes' first 10-day contract expire. With teams allowed to sign players to no more than two 10-day contracts, the Rockets will have to release Lucas or sign him for the remainder of the season. With the Rockets only temporarily allowed 16 players on the roster because of their injuries, if they keep Lucas they won't be able to keep Hayes without a trade to trim a player from the roster or taking the least likely option of releasing a player with a guaranteed contract. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/3610594.html So my thinking is this. Right now they probably are looking to make a two for one deal to create roster room for Lucas and if that can't be done they will have to go with the least likely option and cut Baxter and his guaranteed contract. There's no way they cut Hayes.
