Marc Berman didn't report anything on this issue, makes me a bit skeptical...or may be the Rox are really keeping a tight lid on this to make it a 'surprise' for the fans who show up. Anyways, I am going...
Guys, MattJ on the Rockets postgame radio show is saying it's Derek Anderson and Stromile Swift who are nearing a return. So it's those two. He also thinks Yao will be back no later than the 1st of Feb. and probably sooner. The Rockets are about to roar into the allstar break
He was playing well before his injury...I'm still not ready to throw him to the wolves... but DA and Stro? More depth for the frontcourt AND backcourt? I'll take it!!
That would be great if it was Bob Sura. He was the heart and soul of this team last season and I'd love it if he came back and played the second half of the season. Yao will be back soon and we will make our run. Go Rockets!!!
We still have 7 injured players. There is no reason to cut someone now. Also, it was said Yao would be back after 6 weeks' rest. This weekend is the six-week time. And don't forget this coming Sunday is chines new year of dog. I believe it's the best time for Yao to come back around that. So I would gamble it's Yao
I'm thinking that Yao and the trainers are shooting for a him to return against the Shaq and the Heat.
If Swift doesnt come back in the next couple games, he is going to be traded. Swift+DA+Norris for Harrington+Delk leave an extra spot for Chuck Hayes
If you saw the highlights of tonight's Atlanta/Indiana matchup, how could Indiana want anybody besides Harrington for Artest? Atlanta beat them down and Harrington was putting it on Jermaine for the most part. Atlanta doesn't want Artest. I still think we should be able to send them some combo like what you mentioned in a 3 way for Artest. Of course, Harrington would be interesting here from an offensive prospective. I just don't think defensively, he works for us. It pushes Tracy back to the 2, and the smaller SG's (which 99% of them are smaller) can wear Tracy down too much. Al is definitely too big to guard 2s. It leaves us even more susceptible than we are now to penetration. Artest just fits what we are about more than Harrington does. I think we'd have to lose our draft pick, but if we are going to the playoffs, that pick isn't worth much, especially in this weak draft. The only way the draft pick turns into anything is if we mail it in and head for the lottery. That is just not going to happen with this coach, and these players. If we make the lottery, we will barely make the lottery........unless McGrady or Yao goes down again for the season.
DA seems like a good bet. Surely Jon Barry couldn't be THAT far away, either. I bet Yao can't wait to get back after the last couple games. If Sura can EVER come back this season, I'm throwing a party. Bleached blonde hair and fake boobs get you free admittance, in honor of Bobby's interests.
