I have been hooked on hot sauces for the past year. My favorite is “Raw Heat Vintage 69” It has habanero and chipotles in it. There is a strange delayed reaction to it. It takes a few seconds after you put it in your mouth before you feel the heat. There is a hot sauce store in Old Town Spring, where they have about 100 different types of hot sauce. The owner told me it was one of his favorites. It has a kick to it and tastes a lot better than most. El Yucateco Red Habanero is pretty good too, but it’s just not hot enough anymore.
Sriracha is all right. I'll use it as a 2nd or 3rd choice, but the one I really like is: I also stick Tabasco on a bunch of stuff. I especially like to "kick up" other sauces by adding Tabasco, especially Katsu (popular sauce used in a Hawaiian style plate lunch).
It's not the cheaper version. The one in the restaurant has a different flavor. It has garlic in it while Sriracha has a sweet tangy taste to it.
you guys ever watch King of the Hill? That's the only other hot type of sauce i use. But I cut down on it. I want to try something else. Y'all notice it has the same damn chicken logo? You can buy that chicken logo hot sauce at Fiesta. If you're curious, i'm sure you can find it at Hong Kong. If you're feeling it, try an asian area neighbhorhood store in the Veterens Memorial area, or SouthWest Houston area.
