reddick? he's overated because he plays at duke. that's the only reason there is even lotto talk right now. players like him are usually selected in the late first, early second (when they don't play at duke) because you don't know how their ONE skill will translate to the pros. salim stoudamire was selected with the first or second pick in the 2nd round and that was right and his shooting has translated. i think we could get reddick with the knick's pick. hopefully nba teams would have learned their lesson from the cavs taking trajon langdon in the lotto.

p.s. if you think the opposition beats up our backcourt now, i would hate to see what they would do to reddick. that would be some r-rated basketball.

he didn't look too overated when he tore it up against UT, and the other few games i've seen him play, he's looked sharp.... who else is even in consideration for lotto right now besides the aforementioned redick, aldridge, morrison, and gay?

But there are lots of players who dominate at college but don't translate to the NBA. Trajan Langdon, Marcus Fizer and Danny Fortson all come to mind. Reddick is eerily similiar to Langdon. Great shooter who is too slow to perform at the NBA level.

Is he Melo or Chris Bosh or Rashard Lewis good? I don't think so.

After him then who? Aldridge might be a decent role player in the NBA. A few more "supporting cast" type players and then you're left with scrubs. Unless you're looking at the first few picks this draft isn't even worth looking forward to. The free agent class is far, far more interesting.

Rudy Gay is more like Luol Deng or Igudola good. Aldridge could be Bosh good, or at least duplicate how Frye is doing. Adam Morrison looks to be Glen Rice (plus midrange, but minus postup game) with intangibles. I wouldn't touch this Bargnani kid, but they're saying he's looks as much like Dirk as anyone. Any of these guys could probably help a lot if we happen to get a top pick.

But draft, free agency, or trade, this team needs to look at all the options. None of these ways to upgrade are mutually exclusive. We can look at the free agent class while still scouting for a quality draft pick.

If Dallas end up the #1 seed and Houston squeaks (miraculously) into the #8 seed... then they'll be worried.

Which could all begin to show up tonight!
