In the credits, they sing about how the Marshall family was rafting down a river when an earthquake shook the land. A fissure opened up and their raft went plunging down. Now here's the great part: They ended up in a different place/time. In fact, it was never really clear where or when they ended up. The land seemed Earth-like, but there were different suns and planets in the sky. There were dinosaurs there and strange lizard-like beings called sleestak. Also, there were monkey-like pre-humans and remnants of lost civilizations. But there were also weird foreign things there, like strange obelisk-shaped metal shacks called pylons. Inside the pylons were mysterious assortments of crystals that could do weird things like control weather, control night and day, and open portals and stuff. What was so great about Land of the Lost was... instead of explaining what was happening, they just continued to throw more weird stuff at you. And just when it seemed like you figured things out, they'd throw more weird stuff at you. It was a complete mind job. Great show.
does anyone remember Dinosaurs? not really when any of us were really young but still something that brings back memories.... "not the momma!"
strawberry shortca....errrr G.I. Joe and Transformers! someone mentioned dungeons and dragons. man... i loved that show.
I loved this show. I have VHS collection they put out, don't know if it even made DVD. My favorite episode is the drug one, where the "happy weed" turns them all into hippies. Sherman Hemsley, who voiced the boss, was a triceratops Jimi Hendrix. Good times.
Voltron, Thundercats. I've always wanted the Voltron set and almost bought it off ebay. Gi Joe has gotta be up there along with Transformers.
Anything Hanna-Barbera. Scooby-doo, Johnny Quest, The Herculoids, Space Ghost...I could go on and on. It made Saturday Mornings the best time of the week (this is before Cable). The original Transformers and GI-Joe were awesome, and their in-theater movies rocked.
When I was young, I am 26 now, the sit coms I loved were Reruns of Threes company- Only now do I understand them and all the inuendos Good times Gimme a break Facts of life Perfect Strangers Man, tv was good back then.
WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY back in the day we had cable before anyone. Like our box had switches on top and stuff. Anyhow when Nickelodeon was a real kids channel there was a show called "Today's Special" about the things that went on in a Department store after hours. I loved that show.
