I have to be honest to myself and be fair to JVG.

Among all the off-season moves this year:

I thought Swift deal was a slam dunk when he was signed as a FA and only given the MLE. I truly believed it was a steal.

I thought getting DA was good and he would be a solid backup at 2 or 3.

I was kind of apathy towards Paddget's departure, I thought his defense was always a liability and he didn't shoot well in last season's playoff. It turns out his is more important than I thought.

I was strongly against Mike James & Rafer Alston trade, I thought the PG combo of Sura and Mike was the key parts that allowed us to play an up-tempo game last year. He was the only person on the backcourt who has real speed; his shooting and ability to attack the basket and finish helped us greatly on the offense last season. Alston, based on his records, was mediocre at best. He wasn't quick enough, didn't shoot well enough, and didn’t have the ability to allow him consistently penetrating to either create opportunities for teammates or finish around the basket. Sure, he can handle and pass the ball a little bit. But nothing special. Plus he has a nasty long and fat contract.

That was what I thought about off-season moves at the beginning of the season. I don’t pretend that I know everything from the very first day. In fact, everything turned out to be worse than we originally thought. Of course, I am just a fan. So, since I was wrong on many things also, although I'd like to see JVG get fired, I am willing to give him another year. Let us see what happens next.

    and it begins....

a few more losses and JB will be out a while longer too.

then we will be so far back that tmac's return will be pushed back "a few more weeks"

Actually, I believe that's exactly what he said.

There was a DocRocket post a number of months ago in which his informant told him that JVG was heard saying that he wanted Swift.

We don't need DA to make the playoff. It'll be nice to have a deeper bench. As long as we have Yao & TMac, we can still make the playoff.

    thats what im saying!

you can argue either way whether or not the season is over, but to say that d.a. is the deciding factor is a little overboard imo.

i still believe that until we are mathematically eliminated we still have a shot. d.a. not being here doesnt change that for me.

I don't think we can blame CD when we only have 8 players out of 15 healthy enough to play.

    Is it CD's fault...
Yao has an infected big toe?
    Stromile has pink eye?
    TMac's back is out?
    Deke broke his finger?
    ...

Geez, why is everybody so hostile? We knew we had a bunch of older guys but who knew they ALL would get hurt simultaneously...and in a season that David Stern obviousloy stacked the schedule against us.

We're still a good team... We're only beating ourselves with injuries..
