SportsRadio 610 said DA will miss "several more weeks" and T-Mac is out for tomorrow. I'd guess DA is out for the year.

Why not? We're the worst in the West and 3rd worst in the league. Why mess with a great thing?

lol always gotta love seasons in which the team still bothers to come up with "official" reasons for tanking.

ahh well, what else is there to do this season.

I don't see why it wouldn't be. He went out and got every player Van Gundy wanted. It's not his fault Stromile Swift is a bust. Hell, CD deserves major props for only dishing out a reasonably-sized contract that's easily tradable.

That's fair, I guess like with rudy, he's only the deal maker, JVG's the guy who actually decides who the team is made up of. and these contracts won't kill them.

Yeah, if anything we got these guys on the cheap so it won't be like we are carrying aroung a Mo Taylor type contract around.

The offseason pick ups were a good risk considering the price tag.

Except for Alston, I think every player we have (who doesn't have an expiring contract at the end of this season that is) is tradeable and has a decent contract at or below market value.

Yes, I'd say our bets were hedged nicely last offseason. Pretty extraordinary that EVERY SINGLE GAMBLE, even the seeming slam dunks, turned out to be a loser. What a nightmare season.

Oh well. We'll try again next year. Hopefully we'll at least get our main guys back this year and get them a chance to mesh with the new guys that might be sticking around.

Derek Andersen is the least important of all the guys we have injured right now. It's not that big of a deal, especially since Head has solidified his spot.

How long is Derek Anderson signed for? Derek had some injury problems last year too.

What hurts is having DA, Sura, and TMac all out at the same time. You end up with a lot of Ryan Bowen.

Imagine these words spoken in a Dick Vitale voice:

    TANK CITY, BABY!!!

We're gonna make sure our draft pick is as good as can be to make sure it's worth something in a trade (soon) for a player we want.

Or we give ourselves great options in the summer.

T-Mac told to sit around awhile. Derek told not to bother, we'll re-evaluate soon.

P.S. Stromile wasn't really a bust. He started playing well. Even showed some nifty passing.

From what I heard on the Sports Flash at around 3pm, they said he participated in shoot around, but not contact practice. They did NOT say how long he was going to be out, but said not any time soon. If he was at shootaround, then that has to be closer than we thought of yesterday, hell even Alston came back the next game after he practiced.

what's funny is that CD is likely sitting at his desk at TC right now. He's likely frantically reviewing his Outlook mailbox "sent items" to determine if he ever actually wrote in an e-mail to JVG or LA something to the tune of "I like Swift" or "Let's go get Swift" or (and this would be really damaging) "Swift is the missing link, baby!". If he didn't type, he can argue that he never "said" it. :D

Teflon man live on, CD is likely very crafty.

How do you know JVG told CD to get Stro and DA? I don't think it works that way...but more the other way around. The coach tells the the GM "what" position or type of player he needs not "who" and the GM goes out and finds the best player available to him to fill that need. I don't think JVG said "hey CD why don't you get off your butt and go get me Stromile Swift for next season"...lol
