I was thinking about starting this thread even before the thread on "Worst Album by Your Favorite Artist" was posted but that is what made me post this one. So who are/is your favorite actor(s) or actress(es) and what has been their best work and worst work in your viewpoint?

    Denzel Washington:
Best: Malcolm X Personally I feel he was robbed of an Oscar for this performance.

Worst: Virtuosity If anybody names Russell Crowe, this might be his worst work too but I have not seen many of his movies.

    Samuel L. Jackson
Best: Pulp Fiction I still try and catch this every time it comes on just to see the parts with him in it and him do his quotations.

Worst: Sphere I still don't get it.

    John Candy

Best: Summer Rental. I like him in Stripes too, but he's not the main character.

Worst: Wagons East. Should have never been released.

    John Turturro

Best: Do The Right Thing & Barton Fink (Lebowski as well but same reason as above)

Worst: Monkeybone. How did he get convinced to do a voice-over in that?

    Robert De Niro

Best: Too many to name but some of my personal favorites are Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Midnight Run, and Meet the Parents

Worst: I don't really have any for him but I have heard Mad Dog and Glory is not a very good movie.

What about The Man , and keep a lookout for the upcoming Snakes on a Plane. Sameul L Jackson seems to outdue himself each year for his worst movie nowadays.

Have you seen a movie called "Going Bananas" I think. It might be called "Going Beserk" I haven't seen it in about 15 years, but it is hilarious. I think most critics hated it intensely, but if you are a fan of John Candy it is definitely worth watching.

The scene where John Candy is being shown the films that are supposed to be like "Father Knows Best", and the old 50's stuff makes it worthwhile in itself.

Also keep an eye out for Los Beatles in the film. It is really good.

I haven't seen it, I'll try to find a copy this weekend, thanks. I actually liked Canadian Bacon, which was panned all over, so I'll probably like this one too.

I've been wondering why Harrison Ford didn't do any westerns...seems like a natural.

I liked Scent of a Woman, but it's been a long time since I've seen it. I would say Dick Tracy for his worst.

He is great in Planes, but I like his "everyman" quality in Summer Rental over the annoying buffoon in PT&A.
