Alright, calm down guys, no need to act 'tough' over some internet forum. Sometimes I wonder why I ever venture into D&D, I really do think I will just stick to the 'basketball' aspect of this forum...
im gonna quit replying to you ace before i get banned, welcome to my ignore list, i just wish i could reach through your computer, then we'd see how much smack youd be talking
Anytime you have a difference of opinion here, you can be sure that you'll be called ignorant. It's automatic verbage. How can you argue with someone who thinks it's great going to the desert to hang out, then throwing some stones at pillars with the possibility of being trampled, and then walking around some structure repeatedly. If you don't think this is life's fulfillment, then you're still playing checkers.
That's not the point, what you think sounds 'funny' or is a joke to you has significant historical and religious significance to others. It's the condescending manner in which some posters here display that's the problem; if you think you're an enlightened person, then you should at least be respectful of other's views, even if you disagree. The lengths that some of you go to in order to criticize religion (Christianity gets about the same treatment around here) -- as well as the smart-ass and sarcastic comments often made to demean and redicule others -- is beyond patheteic and, in fact, quiet telling. Let's just be respectful and try to maintain somewhat of a mature tone, and I don't think there will be a problem. It's a given that people will disagree about things, but first let's make sure that we have our facts straight and know what we're debating/discussing, because I often get the feeling that making knee-jerk reactionary comments and getting some kind of a 'kick' out of it is precisely the purpose of such posts.
OK so a country full of people that trample each other over Cabbage Patch Dolls and Tickle Me Elmo's that they are attempting to get as gifts to (allegedly) celebrate the birth of their most holy religious figure gets to make fun of the "backwards people" that get trampled at the high point of their religious lives? Just wanted to make sure...
People in Spain are still running with the bulls in Spain. At leasthajj is done for a logical reason if you are of that faith. People do more dangerous things for less.
thats a self contradictory statement dont you think? i would consider atheism to be a religion (ie your set of beliefs, or to go a step further, your way of life). the 'zealousness' with which you attack other religions, which obviously stems from your current religion of atheism, is in the same boat as the 'zealots' you attack. i guess that makes you just as ignorant as the rest of us?
I appreciated the clarifications. While I'm not muslim or intend on changing anytime soon, I am interested in what the religion is about. I'm actually shocked by some of the stupid ass responses in this thread. It really shows some people's ignorance.
What I learned from this thread: 1. A terrible tragedy occurred, and people were killed unnecessarily. 2. It is more important to bash a religion rather than to mourn, or bemoan the life loss of hundreds of innocent lives. 3. The people who bash the religion rather than express grief at the loss of life, feel that their way is better. 4. Looking at the example the bashers set, I find it hard to see their way as something positive or something that more people should emmulate.
there will always be people bashing anyone's religion. Unfortunately your response only adds to Aces' claims. All you're missing from your post is "infidel" and a few references to dogs. boomer: Islam is a religion of peace Aces: you have a backwards religion boomer: i'm gonna beat the snot out of you for saying that. do you see how stupid that sounds?
yea, i was already a little angry when i was posting, and now i look at it i may have went a little overboard ...but he had it coming oh and aces didnt say it that nicely, he said he had no respect for my religion, so i in turn have no respect for him
