First, I would like a play by play breakdown on how come the Pacers cheated and still lost? What a bad call on that flagrant by Shaq on Best. NBC is looking to have the series tied to boost ratings!! How pathetic. Second, why didn't Bird insert Smits when the refs were getting Shaq out of the game? Or when Shaq has the refs give him 5 fouls already! And why didn't Jackson come in instead of Best, who clearly needs the refs help to get some points because he is so streaky! Lastly, Miller is disappearing when he is needed most. In the timeouts, I hear the refs telling him to shoot since the refs had the Lakers in the penalty since the beginning of the 4th quarter! I guess Miller is content with making it to the Finals. Man, not even the refs can help the Pacers now. You don't see the Lakers not taking advantage when the refs are helping them. Soon, we will be talking draft even more. I miss my Rockets. ------------------ Live Rocketball. Breathe Rocketball. Die with Rocketball.
Pacers cheating? LOL. Like I said- it's not what the calls are as much as it's when they're made. The Pacers got that break. But in the last minute, when Rick Fox clearly runs over Sam Perkins, the Fakers get the call. The refs will give the Pacers some breaks to keep the game close, but when the game is on the line, the refs will hand it to the Fakers. And by the way, is anyone else simply furious with Sam Perkins? This is the veteran of all veterans, and he DOESN'T KNOW THE RULES! He tries to play hack-a-Shaq with 40 seconds left, and it has been stated over and over again that it is illegal after 2 minutes. It's one thing if you miss a shot, or if the Fakers make a good play. But in the last minute of a game, it is unexcusable to cost your team big because you don't know the rules!! Unbelievable. ------------------ Cheaters never win. Unless you play for LA that is.
By the way, how much more can you guys take of Shaq the total dumbass? Did you check out his interview after the game? He said that in hack-a-Shaq most of them were falling for him and that it wouldn't work. WHAT? I never saw him once go better than 1 for 2, he shot 18 for 39 in the game, and those shots he missed were plain ugly. It gets to the point you wish the NBA had an IQ test players had to pass to let them play in the league. ------------------ Cheaters never win. Unless you play for LA that is.
I thought the refs helped Shaq a little at the line. If anything, helping him make 1 of 2 still negated the Pacers from coming back all the way. Also, once the NBC told the the Lakers to hold Kobe back, I sure thought that the Pacers were in there. I think that the Pacers totally laxed once Kobe left. They could of taken advantage of NBC but totally fell asleep. I guess they thought they were in the central time zone. And where the hell was Reggie? Didn't he read the script? He was suppose to be the hero today! Oh well...PACERS IN SIX! or SEVEN! ------------------ Live Rocketball. Breathe Rocketball. Die with Rocketball. This whining is getting old. If you watched carefully like you claimed, Perkins was MOVING. Even if Fox runs over Perkins, Perkins was moving therefore, blocking foul. ------------------ Check out the new and improved Draftsource.net

I sure didn't see Perkins moving. Even Costas, the greatest Faker lover of all time, said it was a "very close" play. Not if you ask me. Perkins was set. But still, that doesn't matter I guess. The game was officially given away by Perkins simply because of not even knowing the rules and fouling Shaq with 40 seconds left. ------------------ Cheaters never win. Great Walton quote-"Larry Johnson has spent the last 24 hours reeling against the world. What a sad performance by this pathetic individual." I wonder if he's gonna say something similar about Perkins. By the way, I don't think Perkins was listening the TELEVISION announcers stressing that point, while he was playing. Just a hunch. ------------------ Rockets fans wanted at hoopsboards.com Draft Chat, NBA Chat, Team Chat, and more!
The Pacers deserve to be swept. What a pathetic exibition last night. Not able to beat LA without Bryant. Sad, sad. The Eastern Conference is truly a joke. ------------------ Too-Rye-Aye!
Almu, The Pacers cheated and still lost and I dont get it for a guy who says the NBA never conspires teams to win now your gonna say they are cheating for the Pacers. What game were you watching. So your trying to say that because of that flagrant foul on Shaq who should have been fouled out even before that foul that the NBA is cheating for the Pacers. The Lakers are the ones who get the double standard calls all these playoff games so think twice before you say otherwise. Why was Miller called for his 2nd foul in the 1st quater when he clearly did not foul Rice on that play that was pathetic. Why was Rice allowed to hack Jalen Rose at will without being whistled for obvious fouls, Rice cant guard anyone to save his life let alone a versatile player like Rose. Rice should have been on the bench in constant foul the whole game because he was hacking away brother. Why is Ron "hacker" Harper allowed to hack at will and nothing is called, he gets away with a lot of shoves when jackson brings the ball up court. How about when Shaq clearly fouled Rose at the 3rd quater buzzer cut his neck and no call, Please! That was a foul and if the refs are not gonna call that then why call Miller for his 2nd or any other foul and kill the momentum for the Pacers. Shaq was also not called for that obvious offensive foul in the 3rd when Bird and Feel balls Jackson were called for double t's. If the refs are gonna call Smits for fouls which they should because he does foul then they should call fouls on Rice, Harper and Shaq. by not calling these fouls on lakers it is impossible to win vs the Lakers at LA. As for the flagrant foul Shaq cant be throwing his 400 pound body into players because it is risking injury and that is why the flagrant is called or at least supposed to called. You cant just hammer someone even if you go for the ball. If the Pacers were winning that call would not have been made they might not even called that a foul even though Shaq clearly smashed Best just look at the Steve Smith foul in game 7. The NBA is and has been cheating for the Lakers not pacers. Get it right. ------------------ [This message has been edited by COACH SAMPSON (edited June 11, 2000).]
Coach... The refs helped out the Pacers tremendously during the last game. They had fouls on Shaq and everything. Where was Smits? Bird should of brought him in to play Shaq and get him out of there! And what about when NBC called the Lakers locker room and told them to keep Kobe out so that the game won't be another blowout? Where the hell was Reggie Miller? This was his time! He read the script. But he didn't follow it. I don't know why he didn't just step up like NBC wanted and scare the Lakers so that more people can watch the next game with more interest instead of having the NBA world think "sweep". The NBA and NBC have to go as far as to keep Kobe out of game 3 with his "sprained ankle" so that the Pacers can win the next two just to get ratings. Watch the Pacers screw that up too. Today, its 94 degrees and sunny here in the NYC area. Nobody is gonna watch todays game. And its all the Pacers fault. If they would of done what they were told by NBC/NBA, the series would be tied and more people would watch. Everyone would be happy. But NOOOOOO! ------------------ Live Rocketball. Your confusing me with those statements, I will just take it as your kidding around because if the refs are helping the Pacers then why was Miller in such big foul trouble early so that's where your wrong. Every foul Shaq committed was legit unlike Millers which was not a foul. If the refs were helping the Pacers then why was that brutal foul on Rose not called at the end of the 3rd busting Jalen's neck wide open plus that landmower job Shaq did where he plowed 2 guys over with no foul. I was not happy with Bird's coaching either, Bird should have took Jackson out early on when Jackson couldent do wrong right and I didnt like the fact he took Miller out with 2:36 left and the Pacers were losing. The Pacers were clearly cheated in game 2 by biased refs but if your a Lakers supporter I cant help you then. ------------------
Coach... Miller always gets fouls. Don't you see that when he shoots the ball he either flops or kicks his leg out? I know for a fact that the Lakers are going to lose tonight. Now that Kobe has been told by David Stern to sit out, I am sure that the refs will try and give this game to the Pacers so that they can have more games to ref and the few people who even care anymore can have something to watch. Lets just hope Kobe doesn't disobey the league and decides he wants to play. That could cost him big time in the years to come. He won't be looked upon by NBC/NBA as a team player and when he one day meets Francis, the NBA/NBC could very well decide to give the fouls to Francis instead of Bryant. Indy in 7!!! ------------------
