I think Master is the best but for some reason And Justice for All has been my favorite since it came out.

Now the MOP concert was much better than AJFA IMO.

I'm not saying the sound doesn't fit, I'm just saying the song sucks and it's boring.

"Can I Play With Madness" was kind of weird, but it still gets stuck in my head sometimes. Like, say, when it's mentioned in some bbs thread.

I got hit so hard in an impromptu mosh pit during Damage Inc that I broke my thumb when I hit the ground.

I love that album. All of it.

I voted for Justice. I love the mix on that album. Kill and Master may have had better songs, but I didn't really like the mix on either album. Justice had LOUD rhythm guitar, a key element to any Metallica record. ;)

And Justice had Lar's best playing which isn't saying much (OOOOOHHHHH, who said that??).

Chop your breakfast on a mirror.

An album's title track depicting drug addiction as an external possesive force controlling the yielded masses during the height of the 80's cocaine phenomenon.

    Classic.

Metallica seemed to embody the struggles between good and evil so clearly in those days... with profound wisdom and spiritual insight to boot.

btw- You could name the poll "Best pre-Napster flap Metallica Album?" ;)

Metallica really needs to ditch Bob Rock and go back to Fleming Rasmussen. Although Metallica has traveled so far down the road of suckiness, there may be no way back now.

i totally agree, and let trujillo actually play bass on the next album so we can get a trujillo era, rather than a bob rock playing bass era.

I can't help but feel partly responsible for that. :p
Yes, Master of Puppets was their Magnum Opus. Anybody that says otherwise is just being difficult IMHO. The Black Album and everything after it has been disappointing, although Garage Inc. is worth listening to. That thing they did with an orchestra blows.
