That's good analysis on Brand, but I would argue that his jumpers are just an additional weapon and does not detract too much from his fundamental post game.

Brand is #6 in rebounds per game, #5 in blocks per game, #5 in double doubles, #2 in efficiency rating per 48 minutes, and shoots 52.5% from the field. If he relied too much on his outside game, I don't think he would have those stats.

Brand also plays with a semi-legitimate center (Kaman) who gets 8.8 rebounds and 10.5 points per game in 31 minutes, which gives Brand the opportunity to diversify his offense.

You listed Duncan. He's never been decent at free throws..

Yeah but everything else about him IS fundamentally sound. It's hard to find a player who has good fundamentals in every aspect of the game in today's NBA. Besides, he's a career 69% free throw shooter. It's not good and it's his greatest weakness, but by no means is that percentage a horrible number for a guy his size.

This goes back to the lack of low-post ability. The most important set of fundamentals for a big man to have is the back-to-the-basket low-post game IMO. If they don't, then they should at least have some sort of "slashing/finishing around the hoop" offense a la David Robinson/Amare Stoudemire. Brad Miller doesn't have either one.

No. He can't shoot. He's just a freak rebounder and shot blocker...that's it. Bogut has much more of an all around game than AK47.

Sorry...I meant to say Okur. And no way I'm taking AK over Okur. Okur can rebound as well as AK can, can pass and has 3 point range, something AK doesn't have.
