I've never used a Bluetooth head set before, but I just got this new toy LINK I'm looking for a middle of the road set at a middle of the road price.. I don’t want to buy this thing only to never use it.. Can anyone point me in the right direction for good headsets or ones to avoid? This is the only one I'm thinking about right now.. LINK Thanks in advance..
first few reviews on amazon are pretty lousy. I'm also looking for a bluetooth headset....but it has to be good for use in noisy environments with lots of wind. I want it mainly for car use -- and i drive a convertible jeep. A questions on headsets in general: Can you answer the phone without touching it? Is there a call answer button on the set? Can people hear you OK when it's windy out? Da Glyde .... that's some phone! Is there anything it doesn't do???
brb, I know that you can answer the phone by pushing a button on some headsets.. I don’t think I will use it much in the car like you brb, I need a headset more for around the house and office.. I did see a new Motorola headset on TV from CES that looks to be the size of a hearing aid.. (TINY) but it isn’t out yet.. And I'm sure when it does come out it will be more than I want to spend..
I've got this one to use with my V3C Razr. It works great, but I drive with the windows up so I'm not sure about wind noise. I can hear clearly using the earpiece and conversations are rarely dropped. The only negative- it looks like something out of Star Trek. If I were to purchase one now, I'd choose this one. It looks much better in my opinion, it doesn't remind me of a Klingon and I've heard the chicks dig it more. Oh, and the clarity is allegedly much improved on this model. Link.
I had this one until I lost it which really pissed me off. It was ok but the range was poor. I'm not sure if that was the earpeice or my phone. I couldn't have the phone in my pants pocket and use the earpiece without static. It was very irritating especially since it said that it had 25 feet (I think) of range.
I just bought that HS820 for my razr. I had read those reviews and I thought I wouldnt be able to hear thru it, but I bought that one because it was cheap. Mine sounds fine, the volume can be adjusted. I cant tell much difference in the sound quality of it and my old corded handsfree set on my old nokia phone. I have used it a couple of times in the car and I can hear just fine, but I havent tried it with the windows down. And yes if you have the bluetooth on and the phone rings you just push the button on the side of the headset to answer, and to hang up, so you dont have to even open your phone to answer calls.
Bluetooth headsets make you look like a dork..they have these new ones that were shown at CES 06 that are small and discreet..they just fit into your ear, but i dont know when they are coming out... I have these: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...-6218108-9626243?v=glance&s=wireless&n=172282 they work exceptionally well but i still look like a dork
blue tooth prices have dropped significantly this past year, as competition is high. I was actually selling this one by add-on tech. from Taiwan for 6 months, and it was pretty good. Personally, I hated the Motorola ones because they feel like they're ready to fall off at any time. However, their quality are probably better, but just uncomfortable. I still use the one I was selling from add-on, but they're not the easiest to find since they're mainly distributed in Asia and Europe. If you're just looking for something that works, just go to amazon.com. The prices are pretty negligent by now, or just leave me a message and maybe I can work on getting you one for next to nothing. (no gaurantees there yet though cuz I need to chk the inventory stock)
