I'm not sure I'm following you Bobrek... Are you saying that you wanted a shot at Patterson?

I think he is meaning that now when we play the cubs we don't have that automatic strike-out that we used to have.. :( and the thought that he is now in the American league where our chances of playing against him are nil, it just sucks.

Nothing of any consequence. The Scrubs traded strikeout machine Corey Patterson to the O's for a couple of prospects.

And the door opens on the next overhyped cubbie prospect who'll be mentioned in cubbie-originated trade rumors regarding various all-stars.

Bobby Hill, Juan Cruz, Cory Patterson...

Rich Hill & Felix Pie come on down!

The problem is, a lot of those marginal prospects got the Cubbies some big-time value in return:

Aramis Ramirez, Kenny Lofton, Matt Clement.

In the end, however, the Cubs may be the only team to keep Juan Cruz off limits for so long, but give up Dontrelle Willis in a heartbeat just because he didn't hit 98 mph on the radar gun.

The Pirates just gave those guys to the cubbies during the playoff drive, that still pisses me off. Was Cam Bonifay (worst gm ever?) still running things in PIT then?

Not sure I'd consider giving up Dontrelle & Julian Tavarez for Clement & Alfonseca getting "big time value". ;) I have no idea how they missed so badly on their evaluations of Willis. But I hate the cubs so that makes me happy.

But yeah, the only team/media/fans consistently overhyping their guys more are the Yankees. Any gm that makes a deal for yank minor leaguers should be fired on the spot.

Thanks, MM & Feg. You guys rock. Lots of good baseball posters here.

Minute Maid College Classic (PING!) is in a month, might have to have a gathering.
