Avoid Gold's like the plague. I had to fight with them so hard to cancel my contract, and afterwards they sent me to collection for money I had already paid them.
My Gold's is ok on the southwest side, can't speak for the others. Someone here was might pissed at Life Time Fitness on 620.

Lifetime Fitness just opened @ 620 & Parmer. A friend of mine started going there recently and says it's great. I think they've got the only raquetball courts south of Round Rock.
