    Kate Beckinsale Labels NFL 'Poofy'

    Beckinsale Slams 'poofy' American Football.

British actress KATE BECKINSALE is relieved her husband LEN WISEMAN hates American football, because she thinks the sport is for girls.

THE AVIATOR beauty believes the US sport is too feminine and gentle, compared to football and rugby in her native England. She says, "Len's not into American football. I'd have a hard time if he constantly had to watch girls' f***ing rugby bollocks. That's what I call American football.

"It's like rugby except they wear armour and scream a lot. It's completely poofy. (They do) the gayest dances when they score.

And Beckinsale also has no time for baseball, which she compares to the English game rounders - a sport normally played by girls, which features small bats.

She continues, "And their other national sport? Rounders. Which is a girls' game. The prosecution rests."

She does have a point. In rugby, you don't get to rest in between plays, you have to play offense and defense, you don't were pads, stomping on you while you're down is part of the game, and most importantly, you are not allowed to wear a cup.

On the other hand though, some of the hits I've seen football players take over the years...if they didn't have padding on they'd be paraplegics or dead (and some have been seriously hurt with the padding). Though I do think the NFL goes a little overboard on those roughing the passer/kickers calls.

And I always thought baseball was compared to cricket (which I think is kind of a 'poofy' sport)

I agree with her completely. Supposedly tough NFL players wouldn't last very long in rugby with no pads and no timeouts.

I wanna see one of these rugby Euros get laid out by Ray Lewis or Rodney Harrison with pads and then talk about which sport has "tougher" athletes.

There have been a couple rugby and/or australian rules footballers who've been in the NFL.

    They were kickers.

    Regardless, Beckinsale's hottttttt.

LOL, I'd like to see one of those rugby players try to tackle Earl Campbell in his prime, with or without pads. Better yet, try and stand in the pocket with Lawrence Taylor in his prime rushing your blind side.

She has a point that these guys have some serious balls playing rugby the way they do and that the NFL needs to let some things go.

BUT rugby players do not hit near as hard or as recklessly as football players do. They go head first full speed and are trying to knock them out as hard as they can, you cant do that w/o the pads. Plus NFL players are about twice to three times the size of rugby players

The good news: She's a hottie who uses graphic profanity and likes sports.

The bad news: She's ragging American football.

Either way, she can blow me.

do you realize how bad the best NFLers from America would **** up the rest of the world in rugby? take our LB's, RB's, DB's, WR's, and Vince Young (i had to do that), give them a 15 minute session on the rules of rugby, and watch them go.

they wouldn't be the ones begging for padding.
