Caution to all Rocket's fans! During the weeks ahead avoid being outdoors, the probability of Rocket's fans being hit by space junk is especially high.

Is back spasms a chornic thing? how does it develop? from regular back pain? or does it just happen overnight?

we did have the top pick in the NFL and NBA in 2002.

Maybe history will repeat itself in 2006.

I wouldnt say that...and plus if someone is gonna have the balls to post something about him being perfectly fine, then back it up with a source or keep it to yourself its really that simple

I wonder we can get rebuilding wise to fit more into JVG's playing style while mcgrady takes the rest of the year off and Yao and Swift develop a bit more... At least next year we got sura head and lucas at pg... hum for once deep at the one spot...we just need to pick up a real 2 spot then we will be in a good spot for a run next year.

That is the problem with the back spasm, it will not go away completely. It takes a long time to get it loose, get the pain go away, but then all of a sudden, you can get reinjured by doing absolutely nothing! Even when you are walking! I'm not kidding.

I hurt my back during a game when I was 21, it has stayed with me ever since. I saw the best DRs. in this area, the physician for the 49ers. The Dr. said that I need to avoid of using back muscle, at the same time to build the strength of the back muscle   At least twice I was reinjureid during my "strength increasing" exercise.

We, as the Rockets fan, will learn and hear a lot more about the back spasm than we'd want to in the next few years! I feel really bad for TMac.

And what happened to Rafer in your point guard assessement for next year? and how are we assured that sura will be able to play again? also, this team will never be saved by our point guard play, right now its all about health because we have almost no one right now and we're still competing with good teams and have a chance to win games. i can only imagine our record if we were fine and healthy

I really don't know. They have always been bearable in my case. Yes, the initial spasms are horrible but after that, I can deal with them if I can move around and get the muscles active. So, I've never seen a doctor about them.

I really don't remember when they started or if there was something that caused them to begin with. I know they started in high school and I get roughly 3-4 episodes a year. I guess I have been deaing with them for about 11-12 years now.

Whatever happens with this recurrence, I would suggest that the results of this season should be the Rocket's last priority. Instead, they should:

    1) Make sure McGrady is as healthy as possible for next season.
    2) Make sure Yao is as healthy as possible for next season.
    3) Prepare the Rockets who are going to be important next season as much as possible.
    4) Get as high a draft pick as possible. :p

If McGrady's best chance of having an injury free career means trashing this season, it is a complete no brainer to me. Let him heal.

The worst thing I can imagine is Mcrady taking 10 games off to get back into game shape, coming back to a depleted team, pushing himself to score 35 a night, and reinjuring his back at the end of the season to clinch a first round loss in the playoffs against the Spurs. I don't want McGrady in games playing 70% so the Rockets can get eliminated from the playoffs, eliminated from the lottery, and eliminated from ever having a 100% McGrady in the future.

No way man! I just saw my Cowboys season end and I'm not going to call it quits for this season now too! I'm praying for the best for TMac and without him, our other guys will just have to really step up once Yao gets back.

A season with such high hopes and yet it is over after only half of the games being played.

    Who is to blame?

    My source's schedule just ended.

What they ordered for him from the Pharmacy is Morphine and Phenergan (spelling on these medications may not be accurate). The MRI result is what they await now. The truth is that we may not know the true state of things until tomorrow. I hope that these pain medication do the magic and get him back on the court soonest. I may not know of the true extent until when everybody else knows tomorrow since my source is done for the work day.

I still choose to faithfully believe that he will be fine by tomorrow.

P.S. I apologize if this information is not tangible or meaty enough.

So what does that mean? I mean the drugs? Can you tell anything from the type of medicine prescribed so far?

    Thanks for lending your expertise.
