Please dont let him go to Tenn TitansTexans!!! If I have to watch him beat us twice a year I will be furious!!!
The fact that this is on LIVE in HOUSTON speaks volumes to how the local media is going to play a HUGE role in the Texans decision.
HAHA, why is this breaking news? stop regular programming for this? damn, today must be a slow news day.
Mortensen is still reporting the Texans will take Bush. If it's between the Saints and Titans, I hope the Titans get Vince (better franchise) and he punishes the Texans. Bud Adams could...could be liked in Houston again.
some dude called Casserly on 610 with a riddle. "Whats the best way to get run outah Texas with a noose around your neck?"
???? ... i'd luv to 4get Casserly ... unfortunately he is the Texans. just want him aware ... this is a career decision ... ignore the home town town player at his peril.
Even as an Aggie, I can see Vince Young emerging as a future superstar NFL quarterback. If the the Texans don't grab him it would be like the Houston Rockets not drafting Hakeem Olajuwon in 1984. Its like the planets have aligned, Vince Young the best college football player of the year and the Houston Texans having the number 1 pick in the draft the year he comes out. Vince Young is a can't miss pick for the Texans. The state of Texas is already energized because of his Rose Bowl performance, the Texans would instantly be the buzz of the state and the NFL if they get Vince.
Shouldn't the Rockets have taken Jordan though since we already had a big man? What would have happened then? hmm...
My point is the Texans should take Vince as there is a definite state connection nevermind the unbelievable talent involved much like the Rockets took home-city star Olajuwon. Olajuwon was destined to be a Rocket, and I think Vince is destined to be a Texan!
And much like the Rockets already had a bonafide superstar talent at Center with Ralph Sampson, the Texans who already have a quality young quarterback in Carr still cannot afford to let slip an opportunity to draft the most intriguing quarterback talent to ever come through an NFL draft. Hell what do they have to lose? They are already the worst team in football.
My goodness, Vincemania is bigger than I thought. Channel 39 and 26 both started their newscast with Vince entering the draft and the possibility of the Texans taking him. They both had reporters out on the streets to get fan reaction. I would be willing to bet (but I will not) that 2, 11 and 13 all start off the same way. I'm starting to think they will take Vince because I don't think this city is going to let them take anyone but Vince Young. Come draft day, I'll be happy one way or the other as long as they don't make a stupid trade.
Exactly... you won't see that much second-guessing at this point if they take Vince, and Reggie Bush goes on to have a great career. Hell, given the average lifespan of a RB, Reggie Bush can be all-world one season... and eventually still pulling up lame before Vince even hits his prime. I keep on seeing Marshall Faulk when I think of Reggie Bush... explosiveness, MVP seasons, and Super Bowls... but when its all said and done, his prime of his career was really only 3 years. (and that's a best-case scenario for RB). The sky's the limit for Vince... he could revolutionize the position, and he still has the ability to improve evem more (like he does every year) as a pocket passer.
I know, I know, I'm giving into Vince Mania, but I can't help it. I know some of you are annoyed at Vince Mania, but we can't help it. Either way, I'll still be a Texans fan, but I'd MUCH MUCH MUCH rather have Vince. Sure, Carr is a great poster child, but Vince is destined to be in Houston, and he's got ALL the tools. He has the "it" that everyone's been talking about. Now, to make sure that we draft him, the Texans fans that are in Houston, need to voice their opinions as much as possible. Let Bob McNair here you. Send him letters, call the radio stations, do whatever. I'm kind of serious!
